Lovely secluded place just outside Cotacachi

4 of 5
I love staying at these vacation rentals as it give me the choice of having a kitchen so I can have a relaxing morning with coffee and breakfast. This place was in a complex that still has a few units for sale - some people were renting full time from owners and some were owners living on the property. The space was very large - there were four of us and we each had a large bedroom. The road to the complex was a bit of a challenge to drive to - we had rented a car as we wanted to explore this area - Cotacachi, Otovalo, Chichimbiro and Ibarra. My husband and I had the larger suite which had a Jacuzzi tub - unfortunalely the maintenance has not been kept us as every day there was a leak in the master bath and I was not sure about using this tub which was one of the features I was looking forward to when I selected this property. The living area had a beautiful desk which was a wonderful place to do internet and the connection was excellent. There was a patio on the front which was a wonderful place to have morning coffee or tea, or just to sit and read a good book. The owner had placed a few interesting books that were of great interests to us and were able to read them as we were there a week. The living room had very comfortable couches and chairs. There was a fireplace in the living room and in the master bedroom, but we had a difficult time in finding out how to get wood, paper and small pieces of wood to get a fire started. The kitchen had a lot of counter space but was not fully equipped as advertised. The skillet was designed for 2 people and there was only one. There was a coffee pot but no tea pot for those who like tea in the morning or even afternoon tea time. The owner uses a local lady who was very helpful in acknowledging the problems and also was glad to show us some other properties in the area - Yolanda with the local Remax. I would definitely stay in this place as long as the maintenance was maintained.
