Comfort and Relaxation with Sea Breezes

5 of 5
Spacious, comfortable home with plenty of room for 9-10 people to feel comfortable. The grounds are lovely and the garden ends where the waves start. Sit on the lanai and listen to the ocean, or walk a few steps through the shady palms to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We were fortunate to see a pod of humpback whales in the bay. Yocasty is a wonderful host and will arrange anything you need; she is friendly and knowledgeable. Maria was our housekeeper and cook for the week we spent at Villa Ibiscus. She put up with our lack of Spanish and taught us a few phrases, and she is an amazing cook. It's far enough from the main street in Las Galeras to be quiet and feel private, but close enough to walk into town for dinner. Don't let the casual look of Las Galeras fool you, the people are friendly, the restaurants amazing and you won't want to leave once you arrive. If Maria isn't cooking an amazing fish in coconut sauce or hebichuela with chicken, try Il Pirata (amazing Italian food), La Playita (right on the beach) or Pescador (amazing Paella). Although we felt safe in Las Galeras, it was nice to have Señor Oscar as the night watchman. We were so well taken care of and so relaxed. We missed a few of the must-see places in Samana' peninsula because we were so happy just relaxing at Villa Ibiscus. We can't wait to come back.

A unique and wonderful vacation!

5 of 5
We just returned from a week long stay at Villa Bahia Rincon. Our great experiences began even before we booked the trip, thanks to the owner's responsiveness to our inquiries. Vincent kindly arranged for our auto rentals (SUVs are a must) and for dinners prepared by Pasquala. Our group of 8 (four couples) arrived late due to delays flying out of JFK but once again Vincent arranged for Diogenes to meet us on the road into the villa, and dinner was waiting when we arrived. We loved everything about the property -- right on the beautiful Playa Colorado beach. We saw very few people on the beach during our stay, but we happily purchased fish and lobster from local fishermen. The beaches are absolutely beautiful and pristine. The villa is an open-air design on both levels, so guests should expect that some bugs will find their way in but the bedrooms feature netting over the beds, and we didn't consider this a problem. We spent most of our time on the beach or around the pool. The staff are very warm and dedicated local people. Diogenes was very helpful and patient with our limited Spanish, and brought us a few items we requested on his motorbike. He and Dulis kept the house very clean and orderly during our stay. We recommend the Lindo supermarket in Las Terrenas, and lunch on the beach in Las Galeras. It's a bit of a hike to get to Villa Bahia Rincon, but it is absolutely worth the effort. We recommend it to anyone seeking an off-the-beaten-track Caribbean villa vacation.

Amazing Location

5 of 5
This location is what people spend their lives dreaming of. The views are beyond words. The private beaches are better than Playa Rincon. We had more than enough space even though we had the max number of guests. It's so many spots in the house to relax, you're never on top of each other. We will definitely be going back. With it being so remote the internet is not that reliable. So if you have important things to do that requires internet, keep that in mind.
