Wonderful stay -- we'll be back!

5 of 5
We've been coming to this house for several years now and have never been disappointed. The view and access to the beach is wonderful. The house is well-designed to accomodate a variety of guests. The housekeeper is lovely and so accomodating -- if anything is wrong, she takes care of it right away. The grounds are beautiful. The kitchen is decently equipped for those few nights we don't walk into town for dinner. The Cabarete Coffee restaurant is just a few minutes walk and they have great food and amazing coffee. Everyone in my family has a favorite activity -- my husband likes to take long swims in the ocean and jog on the beach then nap on a sun chair. My teenage daughters bounce between the beach and pool and sunchairs, sometimes sunbathing on the roof. I prefer quick swims and then reading in the little gazebo, watching the kiteboarders. It really is a wonderful place!

Great views, good service, but less than perfect.

4 of 5
First let me state that the home does indeed have perhaps the most exceptional views around. It is a lovely home , but a bit dated. The veranda was my absolute favorite part of the home. The staff were friendly and as helpful as possible! However, if you do not speak any Spanish, this is not the home for you. The staff has little to zero knowledge of the English language. There were issues with the home. For example, not enough ample lighting throughout (kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc.) Our Jacuzzi tub did not have a drain stopper that worked. Also in the master bath, there is no hot water for hand washing. The cold water leaked so badly from the supply line that it pooled all over the tile floor and I slipped! The staff was prompt in repairing this though. Also, the ceiling in the family room area leaked one evening during a rain and we had to find tubs , towels, and buckets to place under the leaks. Also during that rain, strangely enough, a leak sprung from of all places the towel bar in the master bath and pooled water on the tile floor right beside the commode. The locks were very difficult to turn. The safes did not have batteries, therefore you could not enter your own code. Lastly, there is obviously a leak in the pool, so the pool attendee would constantly have to add more water to it rendering it far too cold to even swim in and enjoy. I was the only person to even brave it one day for ten minutes!

Eagle Villa - Amazing...!!!

5 of 5
As you may have read earlier - the pictures do NOT do the Eagle Villa justice. The views, the expanse of the house itself, the pool (how nice to have right there)! We were so impressed by the Villa, upon first sight! Upon entering, you have so much living space (room for 8-10 people is no problem). The wrap-around balcony overlooking the ocean can protect you from any rain that might fall; or let you see all the stars at night (or just head to the rooftop viewing deck for ultimate views)!!! Downtown Puerto Plata is just a ten-minutes drive, and the towns of Sosua (beaches, shopping and nightlife) and a bit further Cabarete are not to be missed. Privacy is apparent as we were on top of the mountain, yet town was just a short drive down the hill. Our houseman, Rafael (mi Hermano!) and our "Chef" Ana (Mi Corazon!) were what made the entire week so special for us. They were there for us from morning till evening, they cooked and waited on us like King and Queen (we had to make them sit down with us for meals as we all became "la Familia" after only a day or two)!!! Not to forget our protector, Ramon, who stayed through the night to watch over us and the property. Never was there a problem and we felt very safe and comfortable. Muchas Gracias, Ramon! They all went above and beyond, even accompanying us into Puerto Plata (va al Supermercado!) to shop for food and beverages to bring back to the house; and even found us a few good deals in the jewelry shops! We cannot say enough about these two - they are truly warm, friendly (hard-working), very kind people and we already miss them. We would like to also thank the owner, Daniel for stopping by personally to check in on us (that morning Cigar ...and Rum!! we shared on the balcony was right on)! Daniel was attentive to our every need and was there if we had any questions or concerns. The only question we have now is: ...how soon can we come back for another stay? Next time, we bring more family/ friends so we can show-off how lucky we were during our first trip! Muchas Gracias para todo, y Muchas Gracias Ana Y Rafael para una semana maginifco!!!! (XOXOXOXO) Ralph and Cynthia!
