Big Rooms, Warm Weather, Lots of Sun

4 of 5
Bob and Leslie where great. They sent is all the information we could have possibly needed and then some. They were very responsive and we felt very comfortable being first time VRBO users. We talked to a few other people at the resort and they paid more for the room and the daily all inclusive rate. The price is hard to beat! The resort is beautiful and safe. You arrive to a gated and guarded resort, and are dropped off right where you need to check in. The process was pretty easy and straight forward. We arrived around noon and although check in wasn't until 3 I believe, hey gave us our wrist bands and we where able to go and eat and get drinks and they kept our bags. We had a 3 bedroom villa, facing the pool. There where some issues with the room, but overall it was spacious and clean. The freezer was frozen inside so the fridge stayed warm. We requested to have it fixed 3-4 times, but no one ever came. One of the master bathroom sinks didn't drain well, and we had some trouble with flushing toilets. Overall nothing that really bothered us. The bracelets we had to wear where kind of obnoxious. Food: My husband and I are big food people. We visited all 3 restaurants and all where good. Kimono was our favorite. The buffet sometimes felt like the selection was limited but quality was always there. If you order one of there MANY super yummy frozen drinks, asked for extra alcohol. I think they might make them weak intentionally so people don't pass out in the sun. The white wine they had was really good. The beach cabanas are AWESOME. With that being said, you have to get them early! You don't call in, just walk down and put stuff on them either super early (6am) or really late the night before. There are people who walk down the beach selling stuff. Find the guy who sells coconuts, buy one, order a shot of rum and enjoy :) Only real negative I could think of is most of the staff speaks mainly Spanish and very little English. Some staff where better than others, but there where only a few times we couldn't articulate what we needed and got something other than what we asked for. Also, they will try to ask you if you are interested in buying a membership at the hotel, we said no thank you and they didn't bother us the rest of the trip. Just be nice but firm.

Better than the pictures!!

5 of 5
Where do I start? My family, including a 12-year-old girl and 87-year-old grandmother, arrived after midnight on a Saturday, and Alfonso and the housekeeper, Angela, met us to give us a tour despite the late hour. The villa is breathtaking at night and was like stepping into paradise after a long trip! That set the tone for the rest of the week, which was perfect. The pictures of the villa do not really convey how big and beautiful it is. It was truly like having our own private resort. All three bedrooms are enormous and have their own, enormous bathrooms with enormous walk-in showers. Everything is made of stone, so it's like being in a castle. The bedrooms connect to the most beautiful covered outdoor living area I've ever seen - plush sofas everywhere, with seating for probably 50. On the other side of the outdoor living area is the kitchen and Angela's space. The kitchen is very nice, but we didn't use it much because Angela was so awesome (see below). There is another, separate building that's a large game and TV room.. The grounds are amazing - huge beautiful spotless pool, private tennis court (with lights!), half basketball court, still more lounge seating, and stunning landscaping. Angela was the most gracious housekeeper. Not only did she take care of the bedrooms but she cooked meals for us as well (we bought the food). She was available to answer any questions and even accompanied me to the grocery store the first time when I couldn't find it on my own. Alfonso was a terrific host. He answered all our questions and was extremely responsive leading up to the trip. After meeting us the first night, he checked in to make sure we were settled, and arranged for a tour operator to come to the house and book activities for us. I can't think of anything more a host could possibly do! The house is very easy to find. It's located next to Manati Park, just off the primary north-south highway north of Punta Cana (Boulevard Turisitico del Este). The villa is inside a small gated community next to an industrial area, so you hear some construction sounds during the day at times, but it was in no way a problem. There are tons of things to do nearby, and driving around was easy. Thank you Alfonso and Angela!

Great Condo

5 of 5
WE have stayed in about 10 VRBO rentals in different areas. Liz and Silvy were by far the most helpful. They were great, Answered e-mail almost immediately before we left home. They welcomed us to their lovely condo and made sure we had everything we need. It was just as it was described. Lovely, clean, and extremely well equiped. Alex was great. He picked us up at the airport, took us to the grocery store, ande helped us move in. WE enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with a book or glass of wine. Loved the beach. Everyone was very accomodating, and the grounds were extremely well-maintained. We were without a car, but found everything we wanted or needed close by. We walked to the nearby small grocery stores, restaurants, and the French bakery. Enjoyed it all. Our favorite place to eat was Capitan Cooks. Wonderful shrimp, fish, and service. We also got to take part in an episode of Caribbean Life, which was beling filmed on the premises. So that was fun. We really enjoyed our time here, and would recommend it to anyone.
