I just returned from a 12 day stay at Villa Harmony with my kids and my mother in Punta Cana. Even when I was scouting other locations for my trip, the owner was extremely gracious and responded promptly to my requests for information. I have no regrets at all about my choice to stay at this villa.
The open-air layout was breathtaking. My kids loved swimming in the pool every day and feeding the fish and turtles in the enclosure at the front of the property. Angela, the housekeeper, was fantastic and treated us like family. She cooked for us, cleaned and did laundry every day and always had a smile and great attitude. I was concerned initially about wifi reliability in the Dominican Republic, but we had no problems when we were in the open areas (it still worked in the bedrooms, but was a little bit touchy as the routers are outside.) We watched movies on the game room home theater and played pool and foosball. My kids practiced their tennis strokes on the paddleball court (balls were provided, we had our own tennis racket.) We spent hours relaxing after swimming on the outdoor furniture and hammock.
When we wanted to go out, we called or texted the driver and simply made arrangements with him. He had great suggestions for beaches and restaurants, and was able to find me a great place to buy souvenirs for a good price. Please note that he's not a private driver, but more like a taxi service, so every trip made comes at a charge depending on distance.
Overall, the trip was fantastic and I DEFINITELY intend to go back to Punta Cana and hopefully stay at Villa Harmony again. If there were any negatives (and again, these are small and would not prevent me from staying here again) it would be the mosquitoes in the early morning and dusk (bring insect repellant), the nearby construction sounds daily, the nearest beach is a 5-10 minute drive away, and you definitely need transportation to go anywhere.
Alfonso, you gave us the vacation of a lifetime. Thank you so much for your hospitality! Hasta la vista, amigo!
