PERFECT

5 of 5
Our second vacation at Stanza Mare was even better than the first. Once again dealing with Cesar was very pleasant and efficient. The condo on the second floor provided a comfy bed and all the kitchen necessities. Quiet and bug free. The ever present breeze meant we only used the ceiling fans never needing to turn on the A/C. The groundskeeping staff, office personnel and security at the front gate and the beach are all great at what they do. With 3 small grocery stores within a 5 minute walk offering meats, cheese and deli items and a fresh fruit and veggie truck parked down the street every thing we needed for the month was easy to come by. Neighbourhood restaurants didn't disappoint either. Nam Nams sandwiches, salads and burgers are outstanding. Balicana's appy platter and Pad Thai were delicious and the grounds and gardens are beautiful. Di Angelos has awesome pizza eat in or take out. As far as the beach and pool area are concerned the word PERFECT is truly an accurate description. We would recommend this condo without hesitation.

Soto Grande - Cap Cana, January 2015

4 of 5
We had a great trip to Cap Cana, DR. That said, here are a few notes to help future renters: Payment: you wire funds to a bank in the DR. The details will be provided via email by Mr. Asael Galindo. It seems cryptic but it wasn't a problem. Arrival: someone will meet you at the airport to show you the way to Soto Grande. Heide was our guide and she did a great job. She'll give you a key and the layout of the area. Transportation: we rented a car at the airport. Book ahead (we did for $25 day) since the walk up rate is crazy ($100 day). Total for 4 days was about $250 (insurance, taxes, fees) but well worth the freedom. I'd recommend the insurance since the roads (pot holes and speed bumps) could easily damage any car. Also, make sure you have a map. We used Google Maps on my I-pad (I-pad has cellular but no data plan and could find current location) to navigate. Food: the Soto Grande restaurant and most local places are part of all inclusive plans. It was a bit of a trial figuring out how to pay--we never really did--at those restaurants. The food at Juanillo Beach was pricey but very, very good--especially for a beach restaurant. We went to Il Cappuchino at the Cap Cana Marina, the Jelly Fish in Bavaro, and another just next to the Jelly Fish (had Red in the name) for our dinners. It was about $20-30 per person. Grocery: the Super Mercado near the airport is your best bet. I'd recommend a quick trip on the way to Soto Grande if your guide has time. Gas: you have to go north towards Bavaro for a gas station. We filled up on the way back from our last dinner. Wifi: there is access all over the resort (Al Sol) but we couldn't get the condo's router password from Heidi (one of the reason for the star reduction). Condo: the AC didn't work correctly in the smaller bedroom. That room shares with the adjoining condo and the unit was messed up. The outside pool was in poor shape as well. The sliding glass doors were somewhat difficult. Last, the fridge/freezer is on it's last legs. The freezer got warm anytime we put anything in it--same for the fridge. Excursions: we did a snorkel tour ($90 booze cruise with a few fish) and zip-lining (also $90 but great views and experience). Next time we'd likely drive to a few other areas and bring swim goggles to see fish from swimming off the beach.

Huge Amazing Space with 21st Century Amenities!

5 of 5
Although we have travelled to Punta Cana before, this was the first time that we had rented a condo instead of staying in a resort. This rental experience was wonderful from beginning to end. The owner is a wonderful woman and went above and beyond to ensure that our holiday experience would be great. She gave great suggestions for things to do and see while in Cap Cana, she arranged for a fantastic maid/cook to help us, and was readily available during our vacation to answer any questions. She even arranged for her friend to come by and check in with us to ensure that we were settled and were aware of all that Cap Cana had to offer. Her customer service was fantastic. The condo was nicely decorated, very spacious for our family of four (2 kids under 4 years) and had everything we needed in order to enjoy our time there. We felt very at home here. We were so pleased that the posted pictures were very accurate, in fact, we felt that the property was even better in person. We were in close proximity to restaurants and shops both within Cap Cana, and Punta Cana itself. Cap Cana itself was wonderful and was the perfect location for our vacation. During our 10 day stay we were able to enjoy all of the lovely pools and beaches within the Aquamarina, as well as the Caleton Beach Club, the amazing Punta Espada Golf Course and Juanilo Beach. We even went to the Hoya Azul - Blue Hole to enjoy a hike and a swim. Some days we felt like we had the entire property to ourselves. It was wonderfully peaceful and a pleasant change from staying in a crowded resort. Both our family and the other family we were travelling with had a spectacular time. It was very hard to leave after such a great trip. The vast property at Cap Cana is spectacular and is sure to get even better with time. As was suggested to us, we rented a car and are glad we did. There is so much to see and do here that the car just made everything more convenient. We will definitely recommend this particular property and Cap Cana to our friends and family. Thank you Evelyn, we really enjoyed ourselves - you are a class act! Sincerely, Nancy and Gerald
