Wonderful :@)

5 of 5
My husband and I traveled to Puerto Plata back in 2011. We came across information on a villa through VRBO and were jubilant that we choose to use Leslie and Bob. This was the first time that we traveled to Dominican Republic, but we were pleased that we choose this location to celebrate my husband birthday. Leslie and Bob give us so much information about the location before we arrived there, and they were happy to answer any questions that we had (and boy did we have questions). Do remember when you enter DR there is a $10 charge you have to pay at the airport. When we arrived at the airport, there was a few hiccups but that was taken care of with just a phone call. The driver we encountered at the airport we so polite he made sure that we were happy and comfortable. The driver stopped off at a local spot so that we could get beers and coconut water .. what a way to start out vacations. When we arrived at the LVHC the driver took us the VIP check in .. this is different from the other check in location. During our check in process some of the information that they had was not the same as was confirmed by Leslie and Bob but in the package of the “Helpful Tips and Suggestion for Your Vacation” we were told to make sure that we had a copy of our confirmation letter and e-mail correspondence. When the receptionist said, we could not get the gold bands that was taken care of with just a call to Leslie and Bob. During out check in process we made reservations for all the restaurants we wanted to eat at. ( We eat at a different restaurant every night). Once we were checked in we got our golf cart and out bags were taken to the villa.(we had a 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bath all to ourselves).. Boy oh boy were we in for a treat. The villa was beautiful, we had breakfast cooked for us every morning poolside. The chamber maid was so helpful, and so was everyone we encountered at the villa. The Sunday night VIP beach party was the bomb. Hubby and I had so much fun, and there were so many choices of food from around the world. One of the nights, there was a BBQ cooked for hubby and I at our villa poolside and we were waited on hand and foot, compliments of Leslie and Bob, together with a bottle of wine. Did I mention that we had alcohol of our choice delivered to our villa every day. One of the days a sale rep came by our villa and asked if we wanted a tour, we did and told them after we were not interested.. They were still polite.

Fantastic villa! Spacious accomodations & staff

5 of 5
Villa Carolisol is fantastic and surpassed our expectations. The accommodations, atmosphere, and entire experience were 5 star! The listing description didn't do the villa justice with its close location to everything we could want, internal room layout and villa amenities. We had 3 generations (2 parents, 2 grandparents and 3 kids: 12, 9 &6) staying for 10 days and it met all of our needs -and more. The rooms and villa were spacious, the staff beyond accommodating -Maria and Santa are unbelievable! (Anything you want cooked or cleaned, they do with a smile and fast). The owner, Gary, was also extremely helpful when we asked for additional suggestions on where we could go to experience PoP. In fact, everyone - from the internal house staff to the external (pool man, driver) were beyond helpful and friendly. Everything was taken care of for us to truly relax and enjoy all the Puerto Plata could offer; without the "touristy feel." The private pool and close proximity to the beach, porch hammock, multiple rooms for socializing in, numerous bedrooms and bathrooms so everyone had their own space, large kitchen and dining areas, and wrap around porches all make it top notch! The inside and outside of the home and decor are beautiful and large. Everything is well kept, clean, safe, and in close proximity to a variety of activities: Beautiful beaches and amazing ocean-wild life experiences at Ocean World (dolphin swimming, shark swimming, sea lion hugging) that you can walk to, great snorkeling, delicious cuisine at gourmet restaurants like Le Papillon, close drive to sightsee at the local Fort or Amber museum, Alto Teleferico cable car, go souvenir shopping, jewelry or cigar shopping, and so much more... Coming from people who are world travelers (including the South Pacific, Caribbean, Latin America, Asia and Europe), fantastic memories were created here and we can’t wait to come back. We highly recommend Villa Carolisol!

Just gorgeous!

5 of 5
Yes, the house is right on the beach! Carl-Philippe and Natalie were very attentive to our needs. They picked my boyfriend and I up at the Santiago airport, and brought us grocery shopping on our way "home" for the week. We highly recommend you take advantage of the airport pickup. Traffic is crazy, and there were few road signs on the way to Punta Rucia. We went to sleep with the sound of the waves every night and Natalie welcomed us with fresh flowers. We appreciated the wifi, and loved the bluetooth speakers! The kitchen had everything we required. We enjoyed the grill, which Alfonso started for us almost every night with real wood charcoal! The water was nice and warm; the temperature was perfect, 85-90 degrees every day, but not too humid. It didn't rain once while we were there. The wind did pick up in the afternoon, but died down towards evening, and it was very comfortable sleeping weather without a/c. We loved the outside dining! There were a few mosquitoes, but not too bad, and while they did have "no see-ums", if you kept bug spray on, they didn't bother you. (we forgot the last night.. so did get a few bumps..) There is a beautiful coral reef with gorgeous tropical fish to the left of the beach out about 200 ft, that you could snorkel to if you are a decent swimmer. Right next door there is a restaurant which served excellent Mojitos, and after a day of scuba diving with Rene' at Corales Scuba Diving (highly recommend!) we ate at his hotel/restaurant. (also highly recommend!) The Italian pizza restaurant right down the beach was very good as well. Most of the time we ate at our house as we love to cook while we are on vacation. We felt no qualms about our security. Alfonso was on the property every night. A big plus for us was Milady, who came in to clean every morning. (She also did our dishes, which we very much appreciated!) Klavie, the boat captain, took us down the beach to buy fresh fish/lobster the first day. We do not speak much Spanish, and there were only a few people in the area who spoke a little English. But we were able to make ourselves somewhat understood. (There's an app for that!) And we also used a currency converter app which was very helpful. This was one of our best vacations ever! It is not a tourist area, which is why we picked this place! If you truly want to get away from it all, to a beautiful beach on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, this is your place! Thank you, Carl-Philippe and Natalie!
