Absolutely Astonishing

5 of 5
The eagle villa is absolutely amazing. The 360 degree view is unparalleled by any other. The name of the villa holds true as it is at the highest point in the area overlooking everything. The villa is well kept and secure. The hospitality of the staff, Anna, Rafael and the night watchman are as friendly and caring as any resort or hotel you can imagine. They assisted my family with anything we required promptly and professionally. The owner also dropped by to introduce himself and ensure that we were comfortable, which was greatly appreciated. My family has enjoyed every minute of our stay and we are already planning to return as soon as we can. If you are thinking about staying at the Eagle Villa, you will not be disappointed. :-)

Spoiled rotten for 5 days!

5 of 5
My three friends and I planned on taking a "Man-cation" with the hopes of living it up and being treated like kings for 5 days. We came to the right place. The house is beautiful with the most stunning views of the mountains and ocean. Cristina spoiled us rotten with delicious breakfast every morning and lunch and dinner at our request. She came with us shopping and took over from there. The house was cleaned daily, laundry done, and we felt right at home. The rooms were very comfortable, the a/c worked in all the rooms, and we had all the towels and amenities we could ask for. Dilenia, the owner was extremely responsive before and after the trip. Some thoughts: Although the beach and dinning is a short 10 minute walk down the mountain, the mountain is steep. Real steep. My friend weighs 300 pounds. Going back up the mountain on foot, not so good if you're not in top shape. We rented a car and got to visit a few beaches like Sosua and Cabarete. Driving in the DR is like a grand theft auto video game and not for the faint of heart but we are glad we rented a car and toured the area. Taxis are expensive for tourists so just a heads up. Pool was clean and delicious but outdoor jacuzzi is not heated. Plenty of places to eat el fresco and we didn't experience any bug bites or mosquitos at or near the house! We did one tour of the waterfalls. It was really awesome if a) you don't mind trying to be sold stuff along the way (cigars, sculptures, coffee) b) you are in great shape. The actual waterfalls were very challenging and only two of the four in the party could participate. The locals depend on tourism so they do their best to earn your money but they aren't pushy and everyone was so friendly. Back to the house. We spent half the time traveling and touring around and the other half at the house. Cristina made us feel like royalty in a mansion and we wouldn't have traded it for any all-inclusive resort...this was so much better!
