My friends & I are so glad we found Casamango . We first had considered an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, but opted for a luxury villa far away from the resort areas and were not disappointed by our decision.
I was nervous at first booking something through the internet, but emails and a phone call with Patricia the owner eased my fears, and upon arrival Casamango looked exactly like in its photos.
The on-site property managers, Jacques and Michel, arranged for a taxi to meet us at the Santo Domingo airport upon our arrival & drove us 2 hours to Las Terranas. Jacques was waiting for us when we arrived, and upon our request, Alida the house keeper had prepared some dinner for us as well as a few basic grocery items for the next day. Also upon our request, Jacques arranged for a rental SUV, and 2 motorcycle/dirt bike--the kind all the locals drive in the area.
The house, pool, & grounds were immaculately kept in no small part by the most wonderful housekeeper, Alida She came each day to wash floors, do dishes, make the bed, etc, and if we had any issues or questions she was usually able to help us (and if not, we called Jacques). For an extra nominal charge, Alidacooked 2 dinners for us that were out of this world! How could you go wrong with freshly caught and perfectly prepared fish, lobster, squid and other local foods ?
Lastly, the beaches in the immediate vicinity of the Villa are beautiful and enjoyable. However, if you're feeling like you can venture out a bit more, we recommend hopping in your car or on your motorcycle and taking a short trip out to Playa Bonita (especially if you like to surf) and a little further to Playa Coson for the most subdued, relaxing ocean and beach experience (as well as a bit to eat at the lovely Caffe Coson right on the beach).
Finally the moment I will never forget is the mojito in the pool looking at the sunset on the océan. This is awesome !
But there is to many place to visit that we need to come back very soon in Casamango
