Casa Phil is simply spectacular. It's like being home but away and much better. From the design to the comfort and the service is above what we've seen before. We've been renting vacation homes for the past 4 years and it was the first time in Las Terrenas. The closest beach, playa las ballenas, was really near by, maybe 3-4 minutes walking, as the house is located on a small hill surrounded by tropical plants. Philippe the house owner is a very nice person and helped us a lot in suggesting places to visit, restaurants to go to, help us arrange our transports. We definitely recommend Casa Phil if you are looking for relax with your family and friends (we have kids, age 2, 5, 10). The house has many nice things for childrens and many areas that allow parents to leave them securely playing with the sandbox or playstation for example while you relax near the pool. When the kids were asleep at night we loved spending time on the pool terrace that has a wonderful bar, lounge chairs and colored lighting. We hope to be able to come back.

more than a villa, wonderful. next year again

We have never stayed at such a wonderfully architecturally designed, superbly situated, open and inviting, entirely relaxing house as this before. My wife and 2 children came from Germany to visit the DR. We only booked for a long weekend to see Las Terrenas and the waterfalls at Limón. But once we arrived at the villa we immediately contacted the owners in order to stay longer. From 3 days we finally stayed 10 days and we were lucky that the villa was free. For us the most important detail was the great help that we had there; Maribel and Lugo and the rest of the crew, 4 people in total. We had such a great time with them cooking together, laughing and making us feel at home. The view was so great day after day. It is more than a villa, it is a little ranch since we had the chance to eat mangos from the Mango-trees at the property which has more than 30,000m2. The location is perfect since you can walk down the little hill to the town and to the beaches. The beaches are stunning. Must go: Playa Bonita, Playa Cosón and....and.... Our stay there was so special. We already booked for the same period next year. Great!!!!!!!!!!! And thank you!

We are just coming back from a weeklong stay at Villa Sofia in the Dominican Republic, and I can’t wait writing a review to share the truly memorable experience we had. Of course, Villa Sofia is an EXCEPTIONAL property, even more beautiful in reality than the already sumptuous pictures they present on their website. Other reviewers already wrote that it is perfect in every aspect; this is just true. I can just add that we LOVED the UNDERWATER Suite, as well as the JACUZZI Suite ! Simply the best ! The service by Josefina and Lala is so nice and efficient that we wanted to bring them back with us ! All other services (welcome by agency, excursions, car renter, etc…) were of the same kind. But the masterpiece was the new dinner option (we have been told we were the first – lucky ! – clients to experience this new formula) : we chose to book the half-board option for our whole stay, which consists in a full inclusive dinner served home, prepared by Villa Sofia’s fantastic Chef, Rosy, a brilliant and professional cook. We had first hesitated considering the price of this option, but we luckily opted for it : for the price of a mid-category restaurant, we had the pleasure to dine every day in front of the fabulous Villa Sofia swimming pool and its wall of fire, and taste a cuisine that very few restaurants offer in Las Terrenas ! Simply exceptional ! One day we decided to go out and dine at the Fishermen Village; we just had to notify Josefina the day before, and we exchanged our dinner of that day against the lunch, just as refined as the dinner we had before. We had dinner in a pretty good restaurant there, but for a much higher price, and without the touch of Rosy’s cuisine; and we missed Villa Sofia’s fantastic environment….!!! Thank you Patrick and Nicole for your warm welcome and for having created this unique place. Thank you to all for those unforgettable vacations. We will be back ! Jane, Mario and family.
