Our group of eight flew into Punta Cana from the Midwest as the flights were much cheaper. Our villa owner was in contact with us from the day of our booking. He made arrangements for our worry free transportation from the airport to Casa de Campo (a 30 minute drive). When renting this villa, we were guest of the owner rather than the Hotel/Resort. He arranged our two golf carts for transportation around the resort, and the two golf rounds we played.
The Villa was beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. Three of our four couples enjoyed spacious bedrooms with two queen sized beds and small but clean and well equipped bathrooms. One lucky couple had the dreamy master suite with a king bed, hot tub, and large bathroom.
The pool, indoor and outdoor living spaces were fabulous. A sitting area around the pool was where we enjoyed morning coffee and lunch served by our amazing Sandra. There are plenty of areas to have sun or shade. A man came around daily to clean the pool and work around the lawn. The place is very well kept, the hot tub temperature varied, sometimes warm and often cool.
The warm and friendly Sandra spoiled us. She would serve coffee for us wherever we chose to lounge in the morning. She was a very good cook and provided not only traditional dishes, but managed to share a few of the local Dominican dishes for breakfast and lunch. One evening with the help of an assistant, she fixed a local fresh fish catch of the day that Sandra had purchased. She cleaned our rooms and the Villa every morning and did our laundry as well. One thing we should have done for her is communicate a little better when we would be going out so she could arrange her day accordingly.
Casa de Campo Resort has about anything you would need available to you. We shopped at the grocer on the Resort for some items, but made two or three trips into La Romana to a larger market which could provide anything from household items to food and liquor. Sandra went with us to the market on one occasion and by herself on the last day when she cooked our evening meal.
Two golf carts (provided by the Hotel) worked well for our group of four couples. The Casa Resort if over 7,000 acres so plan to travel to the beach, golf courses, Altos de Chavon, Marina and restaurants via car or golf cart from the centrally located villa. The restaurants range from local fair to the amazing La Cirque. A couple of our favorites were La Casita at the Marina and La Piazz
