My family and I stayed the last week of August to celebrate my birthday. We had a 5 bedroom villa that was gorgeous inside and out. My family agrees that this was a great vacation, and for me, it was the best birthday ever. We were treated like VIPs.
After arriving back home, it was as if I was Cinderella and my carriage turned into a pumpkin because there was no maid service, no representative (Calvin is the best) and no pool.
The only two things I didn't care for but by no means does it diminish the wonderful time we had was, 1) didn't like wearing the gold band (couldn't wear bracelets on that arm and 2) the VIP party was canceled because of weather.
Just be aware that access to many things at the resort is determined by the color of your band and that the "Gold VIP" band grants you access (with few exceptions). I saw blue bands being denied entry to many places. I did meet a black band (he was a shareholder) who invited us to dine with him one evening. Also if you don't want to walk or wait for shuttle service, you must have a gold band (that'll get you a golf cart), but the shuttle services worked very well and was extremely prompt.
The excursions we took were awesome (ziplining, speed boat, horseback riding, etc.)
One last thing, we took a taxi (resort taxis too expensive), go to the gate and ask for Victor and Edwin. They were awesome, took us into the city for lunch, shopping and a sightseeing tour, never rushing us even though we were with them over 5 hours. Victor even doubled as a nanny for my grandson while we ate lunch and he beat on the drums in the restaurant.
I am planning vacation now for 2015 and visiting again is certainly on my short list, you just might want to put this on your short list also.
