March Spring Break

5 of 5
We enjoyed a great family week in Punta Cana thanks to Eduardo, Evelyn and Edmond. Two adults and three kids fit very comfortably into the villa. Eduardo is very easy to work with and can't say enough about the cooking and general helpfulness of both Evelyn and Edmond. The house has three nice bedrooms, inside and outside dining options and great outdoor space with the pool. The golf carts will get you to the beach, tennis courts, golf course and restaurants in just minutes if desired. Strongly recommend using Evelyn to cook as you get what you want, when you want it. Edmond is handy with the grill as well. Ordering food and drink in advance is easy to do and a nicely stocked grocery store is just a few minutes away. If you are a golfer both Corales and Punta Espada are must plays in the local area. Two of the more spectacular golf settings you will ever get the opportunity to play. Weather was great for our early March dates. Constant light ocean breeze made the temperature perfect.

STUPENDA!

5 of 5
Our stay at Villa Margarita was exceptional and we can confirm everything that has already been written in the following reviews. The villa is exquisite with a Palladian style architecture that gives it a very European flavor. It is beautifully decorated, in pristine condition and very clean. The staff is welcoming and always eager to please and the cuisine is excellent. Attention to detail is throughout and sure to satisfy even the most demanding expectation. We found that Villa Margarita really does combine the luxury and service of a world-class resort with the privacy of a home. It is definitely the best you could ask for and we highly recommend it! Thank-you for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic get away on the beach

4 of 5
We were looking for a place to stay during a friend’s wedding at Dreams and did not want to stay at a resort. We were also bringing our parents as it was my wife’s parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. This was just what our family needed. We were looking for something different that was a bit more natural and not so fancy like the resorts are. My wife enjoyed the freedom to just walk downstairs without feeling like she needed to be “made-up” to go to the “resort restaurant or bar” for coffee, drink or a meal. This feeling transcended to the beach where it wasn’t full of people looking to see and be seen. We basically had our own private beach for the week. I would highly recommend asking the owner to hire a cook (Nilda) for you for a slight extra charge. She will help you get groceries and fix authentic Dominican cuisine for you. This made the trip extremely relaxing. Waking up to the sound of waves, a free range rooster and the smell of fresh coffee/breakfast cooking is not something easily experienced anywhere else. We felt extremely pampered and she was a wonderful person. The caretaker of the property (Santiago) is also a very nice man and one of his sons is usually on the beach in the small white store on the right next to the Zoetry resort. For you fishermen out there, I was able to fish directly from shore using lures on spinning tackle with mixed results. I would recommend bait if you want to do this. I was also able to walk to the lagoon and use my fly rod but the only way to get a good fish doing that in the lagoon would be to rent a kayak or small boat. The shoreline is not accessible for the biggest part of the lagoon. We rented a car for the week and had no problems driving to get groceries, driving to Dreams for the wedding, taking a trip to Higuey to see the basilica, going out to the Hard Rock casino one night, etc. We had some trouble with the WiFi hotspot that is at the house but the resort next door (Zoetry) has open WiFi so we were able to get connected while lying in the beach chairs, real hardship there <g>. The only thing that would make the house perfect would be hot water. This was really not as big an issue as it might sound as we took showers after being on the hot beach all day and it was refreshing. Morning showers would be an issue; If you are that inflexible, you probably don’t belong in the Dominican Republic at all much less this house. Thanks Villijant!
