          Wonderful!

          5 of 5
We just had a wonderful stay in this apartment. I came with my 2 sons (age 17, 19), and we had never been to the DR. Everything was as described, and I loved having the first floor veranda looking out on the pool and ocean. It was very quiet during the week, so for me it was heaven to get up early and enjoy reading on the porch while enjoying the view. We had a car, but used it mainly on short trips into town for shopping and dinner. I highly recommend tours as a way to see Isla Saona and Isla Catalina for snorkeling. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful, and this was one of the highlights of our trip. For us it was a little disconcerting to see guards with big guns at the bank, but within a few minutes we were talking away with them and they would be showing us photos of their children! For a trip into Santo Domingo, there is a lot of construction right now in the colonial zone, and we would never have found any parking - best to do a day tour with a guide if you are not familiar with the area. The apartment is very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and has everything you need. My one suggestion would be to add a fan in the living room - during the day the breezes made the apartment very comfortable, at night we used the AC in the bedrooms. The beach is very nice ... diving shop right next door. We hope to come back once we have gotten scuba certified to take advantage of that. We tried a different restaurant in town each night, the owner's recommendations were very helpful. All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay!

          Terrific family vacation

My family of seven was lucky enough to stay at Cap-cana oasis in June. We were picked up at the airport by Alejandro where he helped us with our luggage (and with teenagers we had a lot of it) and then lead us to our home in paradise.Luz (the housekeeper) greeted us with piña coladas and fresh fruit. The villa and grounds are absolutely beautiful and come stocked with all the amenities needed for a perfect holiday. During our stay we were lucky enough to have Daniel as our chef. We were skeptical at the idea of having a chef and thought we would like to "eat out" - however after our first day we decided we wouldn't eat anywhere but the house. Our 16 year old daughter has celiac and cannot have gluten - Daniel was a lifesaver and made all of our meals gluten free! Capcana Oasis is the perfect villa and we look forward to visiting again!
