Wonderful! Everything is as described!

5 of 5
Wonderful property. Private, secluded and wonderful. Only place I've truly ever been that lived up completely to expectations. Perfect for me and my husband. We cooked breakfast for ourselves, sat by the pool, read books for pleasure, visited Playa Grande very nearby for wonderful seafood dinner and an afternoon by the sea. If you're up for a little adventure (i.e. driving through DR) and don't have to be catered to - this is the place to go! Irma was a wonderful host and we hope to go back :)

Villa was very relaxing and beautiful, and just as it looked in photos

Services was attentive and LR tried hard to please. They were very accomodating about the mnue for the in-house chef and tried hard to find fun activities. However, concierge did not have deep knowledge of island and made several planning mistakes, which I mostly caught on my own by looking at maps or by talking to people after we had arrived. She should have learned better the travel distances and been more candid about some of the logistical issues of planning certain day trips. She also should have advised against a car rental. Again, I think htere was lack of DR knowledge. Also, she was hard to reach by phone and email response times were often delayed.

Perfect 3-week stay

5 of 5
Our family [2 grandparents (in our 60's & 70's), adult children with significant others (ages 32 to 44) and 2 grandchildren (ages 4 & 5)] stayed at Seacliff Villa over a 3-week period during the 2011 Christmas/New Years holidays. We weren't all there at one time--our children arrived and left at various times, so the 5 bedrooms were perfect. This was the fourth year our family has stayed in the Carribean for the holidays. We had previously stayed in Montego Bay and Puerta Plata. Everyone agreed that Seacliff is the best villa we have stayed in. It is very comfortable and the outdoor room on the ground level is a great gathering place. The view of the sea from the master balcony is gorgeous and gives complete privacy. Our daughters sun bathed on the hugh balcony at the front of the house, again with complete privacy. The pictures of the house on HomeAway are not up to date as the bed linens are much nicer and all rooms are fully furnished. Otherwise, I found the listing description to be accurate. The villa is about 90 minutes from Puerta Plata airport and not in a touristy area. There is a beautiful, long beach with white sand about a 5-minute drive from the villa. The vendors on the beach will bring lounge chairs, drinks; and if you want a meal, they will bring table, chairs & excellent fish, lobster or chicken right to you. You run a tab and pay at the end of the day. Hubert and Mota are the consummate hosts; and if anything needs to be fixed, they are right on it. I don't think I ever saw either without a smile on his face. We would highly recommend Seacliff to others and may very well return again. Thanks again, Hubert, Mota, Gaby, Gabriel, Luce and Georgina for all the fond memories. Cindy C. Richmond, Virginia
