                          Wonderful Vacation Rental!!

                          5 of 5
My family, including 2 boys ages 8 and 11, stayed at Drop Anchor in April of this year. We had a wonderful experience. It was the perfect location right in the heart of everything. It was clean, had all the necessary technology needs and fantastic views. The restaurant downstairs wasn't too loud and had excellent meals. We ate there often. It was a bit loud the first Saturday we were there but quiet the rest of the time. I had been there before so I expected the later hours at the restaurant and louder music and my kids were able to sleep through it because the bedrooms have air conditioning (but light sleepers may need to think about going into the mountains not in the heart of the city). Everything was very clean and Gracie came by to check on us and was a wonderful host. The kitchen was stocked well by our needs and standards. We hired a driver to get us to the grocery store and our activities and they worked out perfectly. No need to rent a car, it is too hard to park. Highly recommend Drop Anchor!!

A Jewel in the Treasure of Dominica

                          5 of 5
A wonderfully located cabin with spectacular views that exceeded all my expectations. Lots of hot water, good WiFi and and spacious rooms. The owner, Mark, was gracious and hospitable, even to the point of preparing dinner without being asked, the first night as I was late arriving. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends nor hesitate about staying here again.

                          Million Dollar View Property

                          5 of 5
Villa Vista is a clean, modern home in the NE section of Dominica -- more specifically in the village of Calibishie. And with the best view on the island, it's the place to stay! There is a continual breeze day and night, so it's great for private sunbathing and for fine sleeping weather. The upstairs king bed is comfortable and the bathroom spacious. The neighborhood is quiet at night and you will be amazed by the starry sky. One cocktail hour while enjoying the upstairs terrace, in the distance we saw a whale breach three times. What an unexpected and delightful sight! There is a nice grill for cooking fresh fish at dinner (buy at the Fisheries in Marigot) and the IGA in Portsmouth (a 30-minute drive) has a good selection of fresh vegetables. ... and, of course, with all the banana plantations at the north end, plenty of freshly picked bananas for breakfast. Chris, the owner, and Gwyneth are both friendly and welcoming. There is very good internet for those wanting to stay connected.
