Lovely gated resort community on the bay

5 of 5
My family and I had a very pleasant stay at the Peninsula, a well-maintained gated community that is a 25-minute drive from downtown Rehoboth. This second-floor condo is perfectly located and just a short walk to the village, which has indoor and outdoor pools (both heated), a large spa pool, a simulated wave pool with a "beach"--perfect for families with young children--a golf pro shop, full gym, aerobics room, and sauna. The outdoor pool is restricted to adults and children over 16. There is a poolside "splash" bar and you can enjoy a light meal outside. The facilities are immaculate, the staff are helpful and professional, and the residents and guests are friendly. My husband and I enjoyed walking the nature trails, which are directly behind the condo, and strolling out to the pier, which has a beautiful view. The bayside beach is small and more suited for fishing than sunbathing or swimming. Overall, it was a very quiet and peaceful week, which was just what I was looking for. If you have older children or teenagers, they may find it too sedate. But the beach, boardwalk, and town are a short drive away. It was a nice alternative to a beach vacation, and I enjoyed it.

Quiet and peaceful yet close access to beaches

4 of 5
Great quiet location at The Peninsula, conveniently close to nature trail, bay, and club house facilities. Property has nice spacious layout. Great screened porch. Poolside drinks, all very relaxing. Great gym. Resort had limited organized activities for kids during our stay and kids under 13 were no longer able to use big outdoor pool. Note that water taxis from Peninsula to the beaches were no longer in service. Some updated/additional casual furniture would make the property even more perfect. Would recommend the property to others and come back. Excellent owner communications. Thanks!

Wonderful stay!!

5 of 5
The owner of this property was so helpful, responsive and sincere throughout all of my communication with him. We stayed at the condo for three weeks this past summer and would have stayed longer if possible. The condo is impeccably clean and well-maintained, and the linens were freshly laid out and accessible during our stay. The owner was kind enough to keep us abreast of the club's activity schedule each week; we truly felt in the know during our entire stay. I cannot say enough about the view. A perfect sunset awaits each evening from the thoughtfully appointed porch. It was a joy to behold, and we never tired of it. The Peninsula itself is a top-notch beach resort; the owner made our vacation even better.
