Beautiful bayfront cottage

4 of 5
We absolutely loved our vacation week here this summer. The cottage has a lot more space than I thought, and easily accommodated guests staying over. Our 1-year old slept in a pack-and-play, which we were able to fit easily into the master bedroom. The upstairs area is huge with different sleep areas and play spaces for kids. The layout in general is great. Wifi works great and we plugged in our iPods and had music going the whole time. Didn't turn the TV on once (which is pretty amazing for us) but it looked decent. It's not an upscale house, but comfortable. We informed the owner upon arrival the bottom shelf and drawer of the fridge was broken, rendering about a third of the fridge unusable. He replied the next day saying there was nothing he could do about it. Also no wine glasses, which is strange. The other issue I hope can be addressed is the outdoor shower has no privacy. One of the best features of a beach house is showering off before coming into the house. A simple fence or privacy wall to block the view of the big houses right across the street would make it a proper shower, and add to the house's charm. We had to have the septic tank emptied during our stay. This was a breeze and the owner's instructions were clear and they came right out to empty it. Prime Hook Refuge is certainly worth exploring and the doughnuts on the weekends at the corner store are a must. Broadkill Beach is a beautiful and quiet oasis. We will be back!

Close to everything and away from it all!

5 of 5
We have rented this cottage for the last two years for a week (and then two) in August. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and it is in a convenient location. It is comfortable and well-appointed, the local residents are ALWAYS welcoming, and the neighborhood is peaceful, yet all of the fun and attraction of a "beach town" is just a short drive away! We hosted several friends who came and went during the week and we all favored the porch as the place to enjoy coffee and cocktails. The hosts left us fully prepared for a week of relaxation and were available when we needed them(which wasn't much). As an added bonus, Kathy and Phil, the owners, are two of the nicest people I've ever dealt with. Two thumbs up from me and 4 paws up from Lucy and Charlie, our dogs! We plan to return and have already booked next summer and my only hesitation in writing a glowing review is that it will drive up demand for this great house on a quiet street, close to everything!

Fantastic Getaway

We were looking for a short, quiet stay at a beach where we could take our dogs.
