Amazing and Relaxing Vacation

5 of 5
We vacationed here over the Christmas and New Year's holiday and had a wonderful time. There were 7 adults, ranging in ages from 87 to 31, and two children ages 5 and 3. When I look for a home to rent, I look for these features first: security, private pool, and a view. This home had it all and more! The home is in a gated community and we felt very secure. My kids are runners, and they were completely safe running in this area. The pool is perfect, and the view is amazing. You get the afternoon sunset, and we always gathered there to watch the sun go down. We also picked this home because there is just enough wind on the hillside to help keep the mosquitos away. The area has a great restaurant on a beach that is an easy drive down the hill. We also hired Chef Evelien to come to the home and cook for us two nights. She prepared a delicious, healthy meal that we all loved. The owners provided a list of restaurants on the island, and we loved all that we tried. We used Porto Mari beach the most. Be sure to take water shoes to make getting into the ocean easier. There is a charge per person and for chairs, and a place to get food and drink. The home is nice with three bedrooms upstairs and a two bedroom apartment below. The bedrooms all have AC for night use. During the day, the breeze made everything comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need and has a good layout for cooking. The living area is an open concept. We spent a lot of our time on the large porch, and relaxing in the hammocks and chairs, and in the pool. The owners have provided all the water toys and rafts you can imagine, even for the little kids in our group. The owners were very helpful, and provided pages of information on everything about the island to make our stay perfect. Cheryl even called to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. There is a book for guests to sign, and it has lots more information on experiences from others on restaurants and activities. Worth reading when you arrive. The house has wifi and we used FaceTime and WhatsApp to communicate back in the US. We also found CityMaps2Go the best for navigating the island. Download the Curacao map, and if you have airplane mode on, but cellular data OFF, it will track you on the map. Just check with your carrier to be sure you won't get charged. Loved it all! I could go on and on, but I will sum it up by saying that I would rent this home again if our family came back here.

Amazing Vacation!

5 of 5
We LOVED our stay at enchantment villa! The house is in the perfect location - not far from the airport, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Wilemstad, and so close to incredible beaches. There is a beach, restaurant, and dive shop all within a few minutes walk in Coral Estates. It was so convenient to get our scuba tanks from here and head out for the day or enjoy the great diving right there. When we were not snorkling or diving, we were sitting out on the lanai taking in the breathtaking views of the carribean ocean. The pool is just perfect to cool off in or just float in the sun. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything needed to cook a great meal. We have rented many houses in the carribean and this is by far our favorite! We will definitely return!

We'd stay here again!

5 of 5
The house was lovely, clean and comfortable, just as presented. We like a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of town. If that is what you are looking for, this is the place. This is our 5th rental in the Caribbean and yes we would recommend this house. The community is peaceful, secure, and the shrubbery around the house gives you all the privacy you need. As stated, the main living area is not air conditioned, but we got used to it. The back sliding doors open fully to the pool-patio area, and as the owner recommends, we opened the front door for an effective breeze; it is almost like living outside, and it takes a little getting used to. But we enjoyed it, and given the choice, I would choose the pool over a house with all A/C. We very few bugs, even at night with the lights on. (September ). The A/C in the bedroom was nice for sleeping. The house was hot when we arrived, and it does take awhile to cool off. I recommend you plan ahead; know that you will be hot and tired when you arrive, so just get out your bathing suit and hop in the pool! Unpack later! The infinity pool, the view of paradise, what more do you need! We appreciated the well equipped kitchen, including all utensils, cleaning supplies, dishwasher, and basic condiments like salt, oil and a few spices, etc. And Gino, the property manager was helpful, not only at the house, but with island questions like where to shop, etc. Thanks Gino! We recommend you get your groceries in town at Centrum, first thing, as the owner recommends. There is not much available near the house. We like to snorkel, we did find some decent spots, but clearly Curacao is more a dive destination. We liked the beach at Porto Mari, which is nearby. Cas Abou was also very nice, both charge a fee. Daaibooibaai was Free, nice and close by. All nice for sun, swimming, diving or snorkeling. Of these three, we found the best snorkeling on the left side of Cas Abou, we were essentially under the cliff wall, there were lots of fish and the coral was colorful. We ventured all the way to the peninsula on the far side of Willemstad, on the far side of Caracas Bay, past Fort Beekenburg to snorkel the sunken Tug Boat. You will have to ask directions, it is a long drive. Bring cash for gas. Stations don't seem to take MC/Visa/Discover. Have a great trip!
