Amazing Villa

5 of 5
We stayed at Flamingo Villa last month and we enjoyed a lot our stay there. I've never been in Curacao before and didn't know what I would aspected from this place. Fortunately I found a perfect cleaned house, full of every facilities one tourist needs. The house was very comfortable and the atmosphere was amazing thanks also to the overview of the sea. We hope to go there again with a lot of friends!

A little slice of heaven

I cannot begin to say enough about Villa Seashell! What a remarkable place! The villa and the grounds are breath taking. The description of the villa was spot on and the pictures were not enhanced on the site. It is just as beautiful if not more in person. Linda Lou was such a joy to work with. She made our trip planning process effortless and provided a lot of info about Curacao. I would definitely work with her again if we had the opportunity to return to Curacao. The entrance to the community had 24-7 security, which made you feel completely safe. There was a small beach and restaurant within a 5 minute walk from the villa. I wish we would have spent more time there because it was convenient, clean, and had the best snorkeling of all the places we were able to visit. As far as restaurants go, we ate at some of the best places. Landhuis Misje and Trio Penotti were our favorites. Amazing food and reasonable prices. We also enjoyed Sol Food. Sunshine was such a joy to talk to, which made the dining experience a ton of fun. Kome and Gouverneur de Rouville were amazing as well. We enjoyed exploring Punda and walking across the floating bridge. Definitely a great photo opportunity. As far as activities go, we love to snorkel. Porto Mari was a beautiful beach with some good snorkeling. We also enjoyed the beach by the villa. The others were okay, but not as good as the above two. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to be able to explore a lot of the upper west beaches, which I heard were great as well. Last but not least, we rented a vehicle through D & D Car Rental. This was the easiest car rental process I have ever been through. The pick up process was on site at the airport and took less than 5 minutes. The drop off process was 1/2 as long. I would definitely use Daniel again. On our last vacation involving a car rental, my husband and I stood in line for 2 hours waiting to rent a car to find out that the car we rented was not available. Daniel provided the vehicle that we had reserved. Overall, what a great 1st trip to Curacao. I am hoping for many more and would definitely work with Linda Lou again!! Thank you for being such a wonderful host!!

We'd stay here again!

The house was lovely, clean and comfortable, just as presented. We like a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of town. If that is what you are looking for, this is the place. This is our 5th rental in the Caribbean and yes we would recommend this house. The community is peaceful, secure, and the shrubbery around the house gives you all the privacy you need. As stated, the main living area is not air conditioned, but we got used to it. The back sliding doors open fully to the pool-patio area, and as the owner recommends, we opened the front door for an effective breeze; it is almost like living outside, and it takes a little getting used to. But we enjoyed it, and given the choice, I would choose the pool over a house with all A/C. We very few bugs, even at night with the lights on. (September ). The A/C in the bedroom was nice for sleeping. The house was hot when we arrived, and it does take awhile to cool off. I recommend you plan ahead; know that you will be hot and tired when you arrive, so just get out your bathing suit and hop in the pool! Unpack later! The infinity pool, the view of paradise, what more do you need! We appreciated the well equipped kitchen, including all utensils, cleaning supplies, dishwasher, and basic condiments like salt, oil and a few spices, etc. And Gino, the property manager was helpful, not only at the house, but with island questions like where to shop, etc. Thanks Gino! We recommend you get your groceries in town at Centrum, first thing, as the owner recommends. There is not much available near the house. We like to snorkel, we did find some decent spots, but clearly Curacao is more a dive destination. We liked the beach at Porto Mari, which is nearby. Cas Abou was also very nice, both charge a fee. Daaibooibaai was Free, nice and close by. All nice for sun, swimming, diving or snorkeling. Of these three, we found the best snorkeling on the left side of Cas Abou, we were essentially under the cliff wall, there were lots of fish and the coral was colorful. We ventured all the way to the peninsula on the far side of Willemstad, on the far side of Caracas Bay, past Fort Beekenburg to snorkel the sunken Tug Boat. You will have to ask directions, it is a long drive. Bring cash for gas. Stations don't seem to take MC/Visa/Discover. Have a great trip!
