Comfortable Accomodations with Beautiful View

4 of 5
We stayed at the Villa Bell Air for a week, everything amenities wise was as promised and the home was very comfortable. We took many day trips up to the west island beaches and explored much of the island by car, which you will need because the home is in a private neighborhood, but is close to major roadways for quick trips in for groceries and exploring. There is a resident dog and cat which we totally enjoyed the company of, they were adorable and entertaining to say the least. The views from the home are stunning, we enjoyed sitting having our morning coffee and taking in the beauty of the area. Peter, the owner of the property was very helpful and was always available to provide answers to any questions or provide help when needed. Our only negatives to the property would be that there is no hot water, a little shocking if you are not used to cold showers in the morning, and some of the noise in the neighborhood. There was a party at a property across the bay from the home the night before we left, which was extremely loud. We may as well had the doors open because there was no blocking the noise it was that loud, it did not end until after 2 a.m. so we were tired and not very happy campers knowing we had a long day of travel ahead and not getting a good nights sleep prior. I know that this is not something that the managers have much control of but it was really frustrating that the partiers can get away with disrupting the whole area with no repercussions. We heard from another couple renting in the area that it had happened the weekend before our arrival too so seems to be a problem in the area. If you don't mind the noise then you will be fine here but if you are a light sleeper then good luck! Other than these issues we totally enjoyed our time at the house and would recommend it with some precautions to others about the noise.

Super relaxing & convenient stay @Spanish Lagoon

5 of 5
We go on vacation to relax, have fun and see new things in the country we are visiting. We therefore always look for a special place to stay that has an exceptional ambiance, things to do for and the kids and with the convenience of home. For the last 8 years we have visited Curaçao yearly and we have stayed at many different resorts, but our stay in this condo at La Maya was by far our greatest experience! It all started with warm reception at the resort by the owner who got us settled down quickly after a 10 hour flight . She made us feel welcome, showed us around the place and explained everything we needed to know to start enjoying our vacation right away. She know the island very well and could give us some great tips for some of the spots only the locals know. The appartment is clean, spacious, fully equipped, comfortable beds and has a extraordinary view on the Spanish lagoon. You can open the sliding doors and connect the terrace to the living room in the evenings or just enjoy the fully airconditioned living room when it's hot outside at noon. One of the lounge seats on the private beach was my "office" in the early morning where I checked my e-mail or just enjoyed surfing on the internet with a seabreeze and a cold beer. The kids would spend hours playing in the two swimming pools or building sandcastles on the private beach. The kids could splay around the facility without us having to worry about their whereabouts since the resort has a private entrance and is located in a nice neighbourhood. Curaçao is a small island so from east to west everything is very well accessible from the resort. My advice is to rent a car so you have maximum flexibility to drive around the island without being dependent of public transportation or taxi's. There are good restaurants close to the resort e.g. I had the best crispy Roman pizza just 2 minutes away at a place called Il Forno! But there are many more good places to drink and eat in the Janthiel area just 5 minutes away. Three weeks past without inconveniences nor any issues of any sort. We had a great time and met some nice people while on the island. I can highly recommend this condo to anybody visiting Curacao who seeks comfort and convenience of home, exceptional ambiance and a hassle free stay. Next year I hope to stay here again!

Amazing Villa, Great Location, Wonderful Host

5 of 5
Words cannot describe how awesome my experience was renting this giant villa (penthouse and villa). About 10 months before my rental date, my (now) husband and I decided to take a huge risk by celebrating our wedding, with a small group of friends, at one of our favorite places in the world- Curacao. I knew it was a risky proposition, but we were seduced by the pictures of the house. We were not disappointed by our choice- if it is possible - the house is even more beautiful than the pictures show. The house is located in one of the most exclusive communities on the island and is situated on the top of a hill, giving access to panoramic views of the island. There is a nice breeze flowing almost all hours of the day, keeping air circulation great and the bugs away. The house has four levels, including the roof deck, and each level had its own charm. All bedrooms were well-sized (many with their own en suite bathrooms) and furnished with comfortable beds. The common areas were large and perfect for our party of 20+ people. Everything was well-appointed and well-designed. The cleaning lady came everyday to clean the floors, which was useful, given the two pools. To top it off, the owner of the villa (Anne-Marie) was truly a pleasure to work with. She stocked the refrigerator with beverages and snacks in anticipation of our arrival, provided us useful pointers on the best supermarkets, restaurants and beaches, and even helped us find our caterer for our wedding reception. Our wedding would not have been possible without all her help and patience. Anne-Marie, if you're reading this - THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your help! I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It is close to Jan Thiel (about 5min drive) and only about 15min drive to Mambo Beach/Seaquarium. I would happily rent this villa again.
