My father and I stayed here for 12 blissful nights. I have stayed in many apartments and hotels throughout Europe, and I couldn't believe how large the apartment was – a family would be very comfortable staying here. It is spacious even by American standards! Clean, modern; just beautiful. The wood herringbone pattern floors are gorgeous, the apartment is neatly decorated and painted, and the shower has very good water pressure (in fact, I am missing that shower right now). We enjoyed visiting the farmer's market and preparing simple meals with domestic wine at home in the well-stocked kitchen... and then eating them on one of the TWO balconies! The walk to Bacvice beach took less than 5 minutes; the walk to the Riva/Centar took about 15-20 minutes. Really fantastic location!
Marko and Carmen were the consummate hosts – whatever we needed, they were willing to accommodate us and usually got back to us within mere moments. They are very kind and thoughtful, know several languages and happily helped us multiple times.
I brought a European hair dryer with me, but the apartment already had one in the bathroom! Major perk for the ladies with long hair. Though the apartment is advertised as air-conditioned, the unit really only cools the living room. The fans definitely helped but when it's extremely hot (as it was last week), it can still be a tad too warm while sleeping... however, we quickly acclimated and the sea breeze helps :) And, the couch can be turned into a bed so an option to be cooler is available. My only recommendation to the hosts is to provide additional toilet paper. We did not mind purchasing (there are 2 grocery stores within a 5-minute walk), but those small details are always appreciated.
All in all, a dream of a stay near Bacvice beach. I would bet that this is one of the nicer apartments you will find in Split! We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Marko and Carmen!
