Six of us spent one week here during July 2014. The accommodation is excellent and the balcony is by far the best feature of a fabulous apartment. It's situated overlooking the harbour where the larger cruise ships dock and has a lovely outlook onto the water.
The location is ideal as you can hop on the bus just up the road (outside Hotel Lapad) to take you to the Old Town or board a boat to do the 3-Island-Cruise. There's a supermarket about 5 minute’s walk away and a couple of nice restaurants next door. We went to Mozart restaurant a few times; it was excellent and really good value for money. We bought the Dubrovnik Card and made good use of it throughout the week. The bus service is very good, the drivers speak English and are surprisingly friendly. Just make sure you get on at the front of the bus and not at the middle or they can get a little bit annoyed.
We also went on a day trip to Cavtat. You can get a bus from the main bus station, which is just across the harbour at Gruz. It takes around 45 minutes and costs about £3.
Mato has the apartment well stocked with lots of items which really come in handy during your stay; salt, sugar, tea, coffee, cooking oil, kitchen rolls and washing powder. The washing machine was well used during the week after our visits to the beach.
Mato also helped us on our last day as we somehow left a suitcase in the apartment when we left for the airport. He sent it after us in a taxi and informed me by telephone that it was on its way.
I’d thoroughly recommend this accommodation and I’d love to visit Croatia again, it’s a beautiful country with very friendly people, prices are relatively cheap as well.
