                    Beautiful view, wonderful caretakers!

                    5 of 5
Our family of four (two kids-ages 9 & 12) had a wonderful week here, thanks to the kind caretakers, Alex & Estefany. We enjoyed two delicious dinners with them, even my picky eaters loved their cooking. Our kids attend a spanish immersion program in CA, and Alex & Estefany spent hours talking with them. It was a fantastic way for the kids to learn about the Costa Rican culture, practice their spanish and enjoy getting to know new people. They took great pride in taking care of this beautiful home, and it was our pleasure to tip them generously for all their hard work. We enjoyed exploring Uvita and the surrounding beaches and waterfalls. It's always refreshing to find beaches that are wide open and empty, Playa Ventanas was a favorite. We would head out after breakfast and spend the day out and about, returning every afternoon for dinners at home, with a few spectacular thunderstorms throughout the week. If you are looking for a unique, tranquil home this is the perfect place for you. It has everything you need for an adventurous, yet relaxing trip.

Great Beach Side House in Uvita Costa Rica

                    5 of 5
Our Family of 4 had a great stay at Casa La Perla. The house is located just south of Uvita, in the beautiful South Pacific region of Costa Rica. House is located right on the Pacific Ocean, with amazing views of the Pacific & the famous Whale Tail Beach. The house location is great; right beside the Bahia Ballena Marine National Park. The park offers miles of beautiful, secluded beaches with calm waters very good for swimming. There is also a very cool jungle, swimming waterfall behind the town of Uvita that our kids really loved. The house is very spacious, with 4 good size bedrooms, large living /dining room, and an amazing gourmet kitchen with everything you need to cook/eat at home. Beds are comfortable and the AC’s in the bedrooms were helpful at night when sleeping. And the pool area is fantastic! With a beautiful rock waterfall, tropical plants all around, and close views of the Pacific and Whale Tail. And a short walk to a beautiful beach right below the house. All of us also really loved watching groups of monkeys heading to the beach in the mornings from the back deck of the house. All in all we were very happy with choosing La Perla for our stay in the Puntarenas area. The area not is so crowded, house is very safe with a caretaker on property, and the tropical pool area is amazing. If you want fantastic Pacific Ocean views, right next to a nice beach, a high-end house. Then this is a great choice. We really had nothing to complain about other then the BBQ ran out of gas one day. We plan to come back again as we love CR and its friendly people!

                    Pristine, private and peaceful

                    5 of 5
This is a lovely alternative to resorts and hotels in a beautiful part of Costa Rica. The house, pool and grounds are all excellent and well-maintained. The bedrooms are in separate parts of the house so are very private if two couples want to share. The road up is a 4X4 challenge...steep and unpaved...but arriving back at Casa Miramar makes it all worth it! We enjoyed every minute. If you're looking for tourist destination with lots of amenities, this is not the spot. If you're looking for lovely empty beaches, local flavor and wonderful nature and wildlife, you can't do better than this area of Costa Rica. The newly paved road along the coast will increasingly bring development....come now!
