We just returned from Uvita and our stay at this beautiful place. We traveled with our three children and another couple with their 10-year-old child. The place was perfect for us. The children never wanted to leave the pool. The rooms were more than accommodating and they even had a crib available for our 1-year-old. There was nothing that we needed that was not already provided with the home. The home is masterfully decorated and beautifully landscaped. While in the pool, we saw many toucans, heard howler monkeys and even saw a tapir venture on to the property. My kids loved trying to catch the geckos that came out each night. The grounds have pineapples, avocados, mangoes, papayas, bananas--and local fruits I didn't even know.
You definitely need a 4x4 to get to the house--but the drive up the mountain to the house is so beautiful and worth it. There is a car rental in town that is super easy to work with. It is a short and easy drive down to the Uvita visitor's center where we were able to book zip lining and snorkeling. The beach was a short drive from the house as well.
