This was our second visit to Costa Rica, but first to the Nicoya Peninsula - 2 families of 4 with kids 10-14. Santa Teresa was a phenomenal little spot with more amenities and conveniences than I could've imagined given such a small community. The house layout was perfect (a full wing for each family with large common area between), and all of the people we interacted with were great…from Ugo’s attentiveness and ability to make things happen, to the family chef option (Billy) whose cooking and conversation we all really enjoyed! My kids learned to surf (instructor Drew was excellent, and the waves out front were perfect for it), Herman and the staff kept everything operational and clean for us throughout, kids had their favorite horse ride ever (got to full-on gallop down the beach and our guide found a baby turtle that he asked me to carry down and release in the water), set up beach volleyball and played in front several nights while the sun set behind us, kids caught 14 fish in 3 hours (loved eating sashimi for breakfast), we watched monkeys from the driveway, everyone LOVED the 25 minute charter flights into and out of Tambor vs. the tedious drive, Flora Blanca was a great place to hang out prior to and following check-in/out, rental car was very convenient, and the general vibe of the area was great from excellent restaurants to tons of yoga options for the girls. Aside from a disfiguring bruise suffered by a member of our crew from a serious surf wipe-out following a spectacular ride, everyone had a perfect time at Beachwood. Safe to say we’ll be back in the future!
