Del Congo de Uvita - A Paradise on Earth!

5 of 5
This was an incredible journey! We arrived at the house, up the huge mountain and felt as if we were in paradise! The view was beyond stunning and it was so peaceful. We loved the indigenous town of Uvita. The description of the home and area was exactly as expected. Del has an amazing household team: Alex and Estefany, who are wonderfully warm, helpful and friendly people. Without them, the trip would not have been as enjoyable...they were there for our every need and we miss them! They both made sure that every detail was taken care of for us and always explained how to get to places; they cleaned the home everyday while we were gone and we always returned to fresh laundry! Thank you to Del for also ensuring that our trip was the best it could be; he stayed in contact with us throughout the trip, checking in to make sure our stay was a good one! His home couldn't have been more relaxing after a long day of horseback riding, waterfall excursions, ATV'ing, boating, and more. Not only do you have an amazing view but the home has doors that open on all sides and you feel as if you a living among nature in the rainforest. Even when it did rain, we sat out on the patio with drinks and listened to the sounds of rain and animals. We experienced seeing a slow sloth in a tree one day, toucan birds and heard the roars of monkeys. We also saw a colorful macaw bird and baby monkeys playing in a local restaurant, among the trees. There are many wonderful beaches to explore every single day along the coast - some in the national parks and better ones outside of the park - especially Play Ventana, our favorite private beach, not far from Uvita. Also make sure to check out the Tilapias El Pavon restaurant near the Punta Mala de Osa bridge - it has an amazing waterfall on the grounds (INCREDIBLE!!). We don't have too many criticisms; we didn't have any bug biting problems and the house was bug free aside from a visit or two from a gecko; the ride up and down the mountain takes some getting used to as it is somewhat steep and narrow, but we just took it slow; we even stopped at Del's small yet beautiful waterfall on the grounds. Overall the trip was the perfect adventurous type vacation you dream of and the local people are extremely friendly; you feel safe all the time and only have to relax and enjoy the beautify surroundings. We will definitely return some day. Thank you Del, Alex and Estefany for such a lovely memory! The Sparacios, New York

Everything we wanted

5 of 5
In summary, this place was great and HIGHLY recommended! The purpose of our trip was to see what 'living in Hacienda Pinilla would be like as we just purchased property in an adjacent community. From beginning to end, we had everything we needed - space, food, towels, security. Upon our arrival we were greeted at the main gate by the property owner and escorted to the property. The community is gated with an access code and well paved. The pictures are great, but the house was even better. Prior to our arrival we arranged to have fresh fruit and beverages stocked in the kitchen - so glad we did. The mangoes and papaya were HUGE and the beer was cold. The ceilings are huge and create such a feeling of openness; there was plenty of room for us - 7 Adults, 3 Children - across the 5 bedrooms and pull out bed. Each room was very big and the beds are extremely comfortable. Linens clean and soft - much like staying at an expensive hotel or what you would want on your own bed. Each room has its own AC control so everyone can be happy and comfortable at night. In addition, the two living areas allowed for kids to watch movies and adults to also have their own space. Not really possible in a hotel. The garage was stocked with a bunch of goodies - bikes, noodles for the pool, boogie boards, even a basketball hoop. The house had great beach towels and the washer and drier was so helpful after a few days of early morning runs in the community. Again, so helpful. The pool in the house was VERY clean and nice. It was so nice to have a place to cool down or hang out if you didn't want to leave the house. Such a big plus with active kids that needed lots of activities to burn off the energy. The amenities of Pinilla are also great. We took a few trips to the Beach club, went to Playa Langosta, and the JW and La Posada for dinner. Each was about 5 mins away by car and perfect. Everything was very accessible for everyone on our trip - from 83 to 4 yrs old. We already have our list of things to do for the next visit and will likely be renting this house again.

Magical

5 of 5
My wife and I stayed first week, then had several relatives join us for the second week. The pictures don't do the property and home justice. This is close to perfect as you will get. Lots of room, beautiful views and the most wonderful hosts we could have asked for. Bob and Bea are now part of our extended family and we will be staying at their home again in January. If you want a carefree vacation with the most wonderful and caring homeowners, this is the home for you. Be prepared to be blown away by the views and wildlife. We saw monkeys, Toucans of all sizes, an ant eater on the road on the way to the house, and many more animals.
