Perfect.

I have been to Costa Rica many times and even stayed long term a few years ago...this was by far my favorite trip and location! The home is beautiful, well-kept and the perfect size for the 3 of us who traveled. The view was amazing, but I have to say my favorite part of the house was the kitchen that was fully stocked with all the things you need to cook. Because of the remote location, we had planned on cooking most meals so we were thrilled to have all the utensils, pots, pans, etc. to do so!! (if you've traveled and rented homes before, you know a fully stocked kitchen is hard to come by!) You *definitely* need a car and be sure to pick up groceries and stock up on your favorite adult beverages in La Fortuna, as the smaller stores in the town are a little pricier. We had dinner & lunch a few times at the Soda at the bottom of the mountain as well as Pizza Johns. Both were delicious and the perfect Costa Rican cuisine to finish off a day of exploring. Hannah and Thomas were amazing hosts and easily accessible. They own a small shop with handmade art, crafts, hot sauce and oils right down the road.. we brought some hot sauce home and I only wish we had more money on us because Hannah's art was very cool!! We did the Sky Trek Zipline & Sky Walk (hanging bridges)... the Sky Walk was a little underwhelming but the ziplines are a MUST DO. There are also plenty of trails to waterfalls right outside the door. (Hannah & Thomas can give you good directions) My personal favorite hike was the grueling 5 hour climb up Cerro Chato. It was so hard and we were crawling on our hands up the stairs when we got back to the house.. but it was a great way to take in the fresh air and see the rainforest. Unfortunately, it rained on us the whole way up and we couldn't really see the emerald green lagoon because of the fog, but it was still pretty cool to say we "swam in a volcano". ;) I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is out to relax and take in the Pura Vida Costa Rican lifestyle. There are plenty of trails and activities in driving distance to keep you busy.. but it's such a great place to cook up a casado, whip up a good cocktail and enjoy the view! :) We will definitely be returning!!

What a trip to Paradise. Great house and service

5 of 5
Everything about our stay at Fiesta del Mar and this whole vacation was just terrific from beginning to end. 14 of us were there for a Bachelor Party and worked with Bobby from JacoVIP to set everything up. The house, the ride back and forth from the airport, a chef, Zip Line and ATV tours and their Diamond Concierge package, which was well worth it! Rasto and Melissa were our concierge's and they took care of our group like we were family. We felt safe and in good hands with them everywhere we went day and night. The house is huge and the views from the infinity pool are awesome! The bedrooms are very well laid out, nice sized and clean. The housekeeping staff did a great job and were really friendly the whole time. The mini-bus and driver that came with the house made it really easy to get in and out of Jaco and go to the party every night as well as bring the party back to the house with us! The driver was a really cool guy too. I would recommend Fiesta del Mar to anyone, anytime, any kind of group. It's a great party house and in a great location. Private and away but close to all the action. The service and staff are fantastic which makes this place an all around winner!

Quiet Mountain Retreat

5 of 5
Thanks to Christopher and Pilly for a wonderful month of country living. Bajos del Toro was quaint, safe, quiet and lovely. Having our coffee on the deck and watching the smoke rise from Poas Volcano was heavenly. Although the chalet is a bit of a drive from touristy attractions, it was ideal for us. We added over 110 new birds to our bird count, enjoyed El Silencio, LaPaz, Arenal, Tabacon Hot Springs, Poas Volcano, Catarata del Toro and the Caribbean lowlands. Beautifully decorated, contemporary home. It was like living in a house straight out of "Architectural Digest". The furnishings were impeccable. Everyone was friendly, helpful and kind with our "Spanglish". Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well furnished. Take a sweater, it gets a bit chilly.
