Perfect setting to enjoy Costa Rica

5 of 5
This villa is fantastic! We stayed there with our 3 kids (ages 13, 10, and 8) and everybody loved it. Tino (the owner) helped us set up fishing, horseback riding, and zip lining while we were there. He had great recommendations for restaurants and beaches and really made sure we always had what we needed. Despite all the fun stuff to do in the area, the kids never wanted to leave the villa! You really feel immersed in the jungle and outdoors with the way that the villa is set up. Can't wait to go back!

"A little piece of heaven"

5 of 5
My boyfriend and I were so lucky to have ended up in such a beautiful place! We did little research before our visit to Costa Rica but I don't think we could of ended up in a better spot:) Solyluna was a beautiful paradise that's perfect if you enjoy peace and nature and just want to relax. The location is perfect.. Only minutes to beautiful vacant beaches and yet 15 to 20 minutes to a little surf town one way or a small fishing village the other. Patricia and Simon were very nice hosts who were there to help with anything you may need but yet gave you complete privacy. My only complaint is that we did not stay long enough! But for now I can only dream of when we will return again someday:)

Sweetest place in Cabuya!

5 of 5
The only reason I would hesitate to recommend this place is because it may make it unavailable to us the next time I want to rent it. This was our second visit to Cabuya . We stayed in another house last year (the Artist's Cottage), but this house FAR surpassed that one in regards to comfort, cleanliness, and charm. It is great!! Very, very comfortable! It feels very safe and nurturing. It craftily combines shelter and privacy with the openness of a traditional Tico home by the positioning of some massive wood corner sliding doors that easily slide open to make it feel that the house is an extension of the outdoors and vice versa. You can easily slide them closed if you simply want to create more interior privacy for yourself (there is a smaller passage door opening in one of them for more traditional access.) The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need. The custom concrete countertops and sinks inside are an absolute delight. The shower is large and comfortable. (and you won't find the typical 'suicide shower' here like you do in most rental houses in Costa Rica). The raw tree trunk columns, built in furnishings hand crafted from local woods, the locally crafted ceramic lighting fixtures, the colorful drapes, and some local art work, all add to the charm of this sweetheart of a place. Noa, the caretaker is extremely helpful. Her husband built the house and it is evident that he took great pride in it. The place it set back nicely from the road with a very sweet and helpful Gringo couple next door. The stunning pebble beach in Cabuya is a very short walk down the road just out the driveway. (the sound of the surf can be easily heard from the house.) The exquisite food at Marvin's Soda (I HIGHLY recommend the food there!!!) is another easy walk from the house, as is the Coyote Café, the Cabuya Bakery and Eatery (both also have excellent food), and the Super David supermarket. The people are very friendly in Cabuya; Ticos and Gringos alike. If it's low tide and you'd like to swim, (the ocean swimming is good only during the higher tides) I'd recommend heading to the Celaje Hotel. They'll let you swim and hang out around the pool as long as you order a beverage. It's a great place to meet people from all walks of like who seem to prefer Cabuya to the busier Montezuma down the road. The bikes that come with the house are great and a convenient way to get to the fresh water rivers and sandy beaches on the way to Montezuma. Enjoy!
