Three of us ventured off to Playa Del Coco for one week in September and had a great time. I was a little concerned about it being "rainy" season however we only got one day of rain and a couple of rainy nights. It was quite hot actually, maybe 45C during the day with the humidity and high 20C/low 30C in the evening. We NEVER wore long pants or long sleeves - way too hot. It was great having the pool right outside the patio doors, we used it often throughout the day and evening when we weren't busy touring, fishing, etc.. Great time of year for fishing; we caught over 15 mahi mahi and had more than enough fish we were giving it away to locals. The condo itself was very comfortable and very clean. It was well equipped with most amenities however some of those mentioned on the VRBO site were not provided such as: basic soaps, paper towels, laundry soap, security system?, ice maker? whirlpool (maybe it's at another location on the grounds but we didn't see it). Only ONE roll of toilet paper was provided even though there are two washrooms. They provide beach chairs and an umbrella to take to the beach however no cooler which would have been useful. Lucky for us we met other people who were staying at Sombras and borrowed theirs when we visited playa Conchal. One annoyance was early in the morning the pool maintenance guy would use a "leaf blower" to clean up the area around the pool from fallen debris from the trees. This took place any time between 6:15/6:30 a.m. The condo itself was approximately a 7 minute walk to the main road and another 8 or so minutes to the main grocery stores (near Pacifico plaza). Lots of restaurants on the main road and vicinity to choose from. Many are closed at this time of year since it's not peak season. We enjoyed going to Le Coq (nothing fancy but great Lebanese food - simple and fresh). We of course ate lots of fish on the BBQ. The sitting area outside is great however the table is a low and not very comfortable if you choose to eat your meals outside. Note: an additional bank fee was applied to our payment when we got there and we were not made aware of it beforehand. It was around $12/$15 US in addition to the wire transfer of $30 US we had to pay initially in Canada. It's much easier when property owners use PayPal or Visa for payment since no additional fees to the customers apply and no need to go to the bank and get a wire transfer. Pillows need to be replaced; they are flat as pancakes.
