My time at the Jungle Roost is difficult to put into words. Two girlfriends and I spent 10 days here in Manuel Antonio this past October and had the time of our lives. A short walk to the beach and a beautiful garden made waking up here paradise. Although nearby Manuel Antonio National Park is one of Costa Rica’s finest natural sites to see, there is no need to leave this property. Monkeys and sloths galore will frequent the decks of jungle roost and its nearby gardens, some cuter than others. I highly recommend sitting on the third floor deck and sipping coffee in the early morning while watching nature pass you by. Birds and other beautiful creatures are also quite plentiful.
When we arrived, Heather, the owner, met us and gave us a complete orientation so we felt completely comfortable and safe in these stunning surroundings. From the very beginning, when we discovered Jungle Roost online, Heather was easy to communicate with in making our plans, and stayed in constant touch with us right up until our departure. Paying the deposit to Heather through a wire transfer was also quite straightforward, on both ends of the transaction. We knew the money was safe, and Heather trusted us as guests to her beautiful home.
When we landed in San Jose, we took a shuttle from the airport which brought us right to the city centre here in Manuel Antonio. This was a fantastic decision, because after the tire of travelling, we were stress-free and excited about getting to this sought-after destination.
I highly recommend renting a car. Although you can walk everywhere you need from Jungle Roost, it is great to be able to get around with an SUV. It makes everything easier and more relaxing, especially if someone in your group is physically disabled, as was the case with ours.
