To celebrate a 45th anniversary, we stayed at Villa Celaje for one week in July with our two children, spouses and grandchildren. The villa lived up to and exceeded our expectations in every way.
Celaje is the Spanish word for sunset and we arrived the first night just in time for a beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean. The villa had large floor to ceiling windows and doors and the views from every direction, day or night, were outstanding. And the villa itself was beautiful, well laid out, clean and well maintained. We all fell in love with it from the youngest to the oldest.
The staff were very accommodating and we wanted for nothing. Tatianna kept the villa clean and even did our laundry. Johan handled any request we had with ease and made us feel cared for. And we were more than pleased to have Michael as our private chef each evening. His skills were evident from the first night and we enjoyed each and every dinner. He even baked a birthday cake for our youngest traveler who turned five while in Costa Rica. Thank you everyone!
While at Villa Celaje we toured Manual Antonia with a private guide, Roy, we did the suspension bridge tour at Rainmaker park, went on a catamaran tour with Iguana Tours, did an all-day fishing excursion, an adventure tour, and did zip lining with El Santuario Tours. While each of the ours were unique in every way, the highlight was our zip lining adventure. Our children voted to do this adventure again and we went a second time on our last day at Villa Celaje.
I don't know how we managed it all but each day we had time to spend several relaxing hours at and in the infinity pool at the villa. What a beautiful pool! Even the squirrel monkeys seemed to enjoy the pool area the day they visited us. What a delight to watch them.
All in all, I can't say enough positive things about Villa Celaje and Costa Rica and wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this to family or friends. It was a trip that will be remembered for a lifetime.
