A WONDERFUL FAMILY GATHERING

5 of 5
This home was enjoyed by our family of 15 including grandparents, adult children, and grandchildren. Wonderful home with some private quarters near the main home. All was in great shape, clean and well-maintained with daily maid service and pool/grounds service. Highlight of the visit was the abundance of jungle animals. An iguana greeted us on our initial introduction to the property. Monkeys galore including one inadvertent invasion by white faces when somebody left a screen door ajar. Howler monkeys were frequently observed outside the windows, A troop of squirrel monkeys playfully entertained us from the bushes around the garage. And a sloth slept most of the day on a nearby tree. Also, several colorful birds including some Toucans. Views of the ocean were fabulous from every room and the deck. Very comfortable sleeping and eating. Activities arranged by our concierge Hazel were excellent. We enjoyed a guided walking tour of the park, a boatride through the mangroves with another troop of entertaining monkeys, zip lining, and white water rafting. These activities all included transportation. This was our first group vacation where we did not have rental cars. Ten minutes into our transfer from the airport to our first hotel, I knew the decision not to drive ourselves was a good decision. Transportation to beaches, restaurants, and grocery stores was easy using buses or cabs. A nearby Super Joseph was all we needed. Easy access by bus, they deliver, and usually they would drive us back to our house. Twice we used a chef recommended by Hazel to cook an evening dinner. Probably cheaper than eating out. We were somewhat worried about visiting during the rainy season but that was not a problem. Morning activities were never a problem. Entertaining thunderstorms a couple of evenings, got soaked walking a block or so after dinner, but no problem. A superb house and a wonderful vacation enjoyed by all.

FABULOUS VIEWS & PERFECT LOCATION!

5 of 5
I can't say enough positive things about Storm & Amy's villa. It is exactly as advertised, kitchen is well-stocked, including decent bath & beach towels (none of those tiny, scratchy white ones here!). The views are amazing, I could have sat out on the deck all day but there were too many fun things to do in the area. We saw toucans, monkeys, lizards and tons of other birds right from the deck. We also hiked farther up the road into the rainforest early in the morning and saw lots of poison dart frogs. Having a private pool was fantastic - our kids could swim as much as they liked while we were making meals or whatever, instead of a community pool where we'd have to chaperone them. Amy & Storm left us with several suggestions on beaches / restaurants, as well as recommendations for activities. Highly recommend Sunset Surf for surf lessons & the Nauyaca Falls horseback trip. I would stick with the beaches they recommend, they were all great. One day we went to the Marino Ballena National Park beach (which was not on their list). Although the beach was visually awesome, the vibe there was a little unpleasant - police patrolling the beach and some locals eyeing our stuff a little too closely. There are too many other nice beaches that are free with a more relaxed vibe. Playa Ventanas was awesome, be prepared to pay a German guy who lives there about $5 to park, but it's worth it. The villa has 3 AC units, one in each bedroom and one on the main level, so we found that we only needed to run the bedroom ACs at night, the rest of the time, we could just open the doors & windows. The location is fantastic, walking distance to Dominicalito beach and a waterfall with a swimming hole, and just a short drive to other beaches & restaurants. We ate at several of the restaurants Amy & Storm recommended, including their own Jolly Roger (great, friendly staff & awesome views!), Tortilla Flats, PorQueNo, La Parcela and Sabor Espanol to name a few. It is the tropics and sometimes things don't work as consistently as in the US (water, power, WIFI, etc), but the few minor occurrences didn't impact our trip. I've lived and worked in a lot of tourist destinations and I can honestly say the local population in this part of CR is friendlier and more laid back than anywhere else I've traveled. They truly are living the Pura Vida!

GO NO FURTHER... SERIOUSLY!

5 of 5
You will NOT find a more ideal location than Villa Perezoso, so you can stop looking. We have just taken our second vacation to Costa Rica and stayed here for the second time. That says a lot. It is truly a world class villa. It runs like a hotel with complete services at any time day or night, yet no noises (other than what you and your guests make and the howler monkeys outside your windows which have terrible manners but fun to watch.) You chose your own meals. At the end of a long day you are served your drink of choice while your meal is being prepared and before the serving staff leaves for the night, you will discuss your plans and meal choices for the next day. With private showers that open to the most gorgeous outside views where you feel like you are showering in the tropics... awesome! You will surprise yourself with how comfortable the staff makes you feel and you will leave wishing you could take them with you. Don't miss this spot. You will have the trip of a lifetime!
