Wonderful house, just as described, 16 of us stayed here and we had a ball. Ronald, Bernie & Macha were wonderful. Macha would escort us to the beach and then head back home. My kids thought it was amazing how Ronald would go fishing without a fishing pole and come back with fish, which he shared with us. The kitchen had everything you could ask for. The only draw back was the WIFI- need to add wifi extender to the two outer cabinas and tv's to the bedrooms like the size in the familyroom and a larger one for the family room. We went . Ziplinen arranged by Estevan a tourism guide recommended by Ronald. There is a restaurant just as you enter the street that the house is located , It's very reasonable and good. There is also a giant supermarket less than 5 minutes away, it's like BJ's or Costco. I am looking forward to going back and I would definitely recommend it to my friends. The kids all 9 of them ages 3-15 had a ball, between the beach and the pool they were in heaven.

My sister and I stayed at Villa Cabomar for over a dozen days between the months of April-July 2013. As we own property elsewhere in Costa Rica and have traveled extensively throughout the country since 1996, we are very familiar with the hotel and vacation rental market. Suffice to say that for a private home, Villa Cabomar is the nicest property available in Puntarenas and certainly in the top tier for Costa Rica. The home is extremely spacious and comfortable and constructed to a European or American standard and includes private bathrooms for each guest room, very good air conditioning (Puntarenas is hot!) and a lovely private landscaped back patio and plunge pool. The caretaker, Teresita, is absolutely fantastic and keeps the home literally spotless. Everything in the home is in perfect working order and Teresita serves a variety of typical Tico breakfasts with strong Costa Rican coffee and fresh tropical fruits daily. We were very thankful that Villa Cabomar has a washing machine due to the hot weather and the sand from the beach and also for the good wifi. While Villa Cabomar is not “on the beach,” the paseo (beach boardwalk) is just a block away and you will be free from the constant barrage of trinket and lottery ticket sellers. Booking our stay was very easy. The owners were always very responsive to our emails and calls and I appreciated that I was able to pay for our multiple stays by simply depositing the funds into their Citibank account at my local Citibank branch as opposed to dealing with wire transfers and such. As a final recommendation, try a meal at Matobe’s pizzeria on the paseo (closed Wednesdays) – it may well be the best restaurant in town.
