Gorgeous house and view

5 of 5
If you want a place to relax and enjoy a peaceful setting this is the place for you. We (2 couples) had just spent 21 days in Play Potrero so this was a great place to kick back. The infinity pool was the best, overlooking the beautiful ocean. The beach is just a short drive down the hill and is very private with very few people. When we arrived the property manager from Punta Islita Hotel met us and took us to the home. We had full access to the hotel and there amenities. They set us up an account so we didn't have to worry about carrying money with us if we wanted to order food or drinks. They treated us like royalty. We went exploring a couple days and there are miles and miles of beautiful beaches up and down the coast. Some of them had no people on them, which is hard to believe since we were there during the high season. I would highly recommend this house.

Magical Spot

Amapola is well situated near an unpaved and windy dirt road which leads up to the hotel. (A brick-paved path for walking or for a golf cart is much quicker and easier!) It makes for a most invigorating morning walk and was a great way to start the day. It passes right by the Ara Project grounds which is now re-introducing beautiful young scarlet macaws back into the area. These majestic birds are a beautiful ( and noisy)sight overhead when we are lucky enough to sight them. The villa is nicely laid out with a great room that opens right on to the pool. The kitchen area is complete with every modern convenience. The ocean is within easy walking distance where there is a second hotel pool and a lovely restaurant that serves lunch and breakfast. For those who prefer not eating every meal at the hotel a villa is the only way to go. A rental 4 wheel drive vehicle is essential and readily available via the Internet. The owner has done a beautiful job in ensuring total privacy -with dense lush tropical plantings- in the enclosed area in the rear of the property where the pool is located. Although we booked the Amapola sight unseen, we could not have been more pleased with the choice.
