Atrevida is a litle bit of paradise ...

5 of 5
Atrevida was just one of other steps of our travel to Costa Rica last January but certainly the best experience of all. The house is absolutely adorable and deserves every review we had seen while planning our trip. Since the previous contact with Franck, its singular architecture, passing by the staff considerate services, the wild nature around, the amusing task of feeding the monkeys, or the absolute peace and contemplative moments, all was perfect and left us a strong desire to stay there forever. Unfortunately, Luis - the "legend of Atrevida" suffered an accident a few days before our arrival and so we couldn't have the pleasure of knowing him. But in spite of this, we'd like to send a very special thanks to Carlos, his son Vlad and the cook-cleaning lady Katia, that were up to substitute him and overcame our expectation in taking the best care of us on a so difficult moment. We wish all the people could visit Atrevida and Cabo Matapalo at least once in their lives and sincerely expect to be back there as soon as possible. Above all, the best wishes of brief convalescence to Luis. Paulo, Rose, Gustavo, Marina e Rodrigo... from Brazil .

This is a bucket list item!

5 of 5
I researched tree houses because it has been my wife's childhood dream to live in a treehouse now completed in a grand style! I chose this because even though a 4 wheel drive is needed to access the property, once there it is an easy walk & the privacy is beyond private - only saw someone when I had a couple questions , otherwise one could live like Tarzan and Jane - which we did! It was awesome- just as the view of the jungle, monkeys, tropical birds & floria. Although living in the "open" canopy (no walls) may seem primitive, having electricity for a fridge, fans, wifi, hot running water makes this place seem like a paradise jungle canopy well work checking it off your bucket list even if it was never on ( but it should be) Also visit the coco farm which Blondie's help we had an awesome informative tour. We are in our 60's and enjoyed every second / wishing we could have spend more time and discovered this sooner when put children were still home as this is a must do experience.

Great experience

5 of 5
Had a wonderful time experiencing the tree house and the jungle around us. Took a little while for the kids to adjust to the nature around them. Mornings were the best-it was great waking up to all of the sounds of the jungle, having coffee with the macaws, toucans, monkeys, butterflies and various insects. An experience of a lifetime. Do keep in mind that this is the jungle. If you do not like bugs or wildlife you may need to make adjustments! The listing was accurate in description. Property was clean, well maintained, caregivers Anna and Humberto were lovely people. Owners Blondie and Mike were a wonderful resource while planning our trip before we arrived and planning activities once we had arrived at the treehouse. One of the highlights of our trip was our day hike in La Tarde with guide Mike Boston. The swim at the end of the day in the river was pretty terrific too! Loved the bar b que dinner buffet at Iguana lodge on Tuesday, Italian night on Friday. The beach in front of the Iguana lodge was our favorite for swimming and spending the afternoon in the sun. Pizzamailit had great food also!
