This is a palace.!! We were blown away when we opened the door and walked in. As beautiful as the photos are, they don’t do this place justice. It is truly a house of “light” and a house of”views”. Whichever room you are in you can see the beautiful landscaping, the beach, the ocean waters and the incredible sunsets. The house is an architectural masterpiece of stone and glass. The master suite is amazing and has its own balcony with stunning views. All 5 bedrooms are large with king size beds, ensuite bathrooms and luxurious bedding’/linens. This wonderful home is located on a street that the locals call, “Millionaires’ Row”. Even though the home is palatial and it makes you feel like royalty, it is also very comfortable and relaxing. There is an ambiance of relaxation that permeates every room in the house. There are both covered and uncovered patio areas with very comfortable patio furniture. The infinity pool is gorgeous and is a perfect size for both playing and swimming laps. We really appreciated the flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi, Viking appliances and huge kitchen. The full time staff is an added bonus. Iris, who does housekeeping, laundry, dishes, etc. on a daily basis is a sweetheart. She kept the place spotless. There are also full time groundskeepers who keep the grounds looking beautiful. I understand that you can also make arrangements for a chef, but we didn’t do that. There is also a nice office, if you “have to work”.I chose to not carry my cell phone or wear my watch while we were there. What a feeling of freedom! The ocean water was like bath water. Way different than our “blue-lips” experiences in So Calif and other places. The small town of Tamarindo has many good places to eat. We loved having pizza at La Baula (great setting and great pizza). The burgers at Longosta Beach Club are the best. There is a very nice (quite new) grocery store nearby called Auto Mercado where you can get anything you need. My wife was quick to notice several “boutique” shopping opportunities also. Tamarindo is an amazing area. I think it may be the best tourist area in Costa Rica. It has a small airport with daily flights to and from San Jose for about $89. This is much cheaper and faster than driving. In summary, our time at Villa Marrakech was wonderful in every way. The only downside I can think of is that we couldn’t stay longer.
