Absolutely Amazing!!! Bucket List Vacation!

5 of 5
Dear Alexis and Mike, You were correct when you said the trip to Costa Rica would be an adventure. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your home with us. Diego and Jennifer were amazing, so helpful and good to us. The house was breathtaking, I felt like I needed to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming! Diego took us on 3 excursions and Jennifer’s Dad made dinner for us one evening. What a gift to have these resources right there for our taking. It could not have been more convenient. Portrero was so quaint and welcoming, we enjoyed the fact that everyone knows everyone. The food was great, we may have gone to Las Brisa’s three times. It was so exciting to be there during the soccer tournament and root for Costa Rica to win! The people are so dedicated to their team and country. Diego mentioned that you may be selling one of your homes. Please keep in touch, it would be nice to stay in either place again. Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing your homes with us. Sincerely, Debi, Torey and Dina Knight

Great Vacation House

5 of 5
I am a little reluctant to give the stellar review Playa de Flamingo deserves because I want to keep it all to myself, but I really can't be that selfish. Everything about this experience was top notch. Just steps away from warm, crystal clear pacific waters, the house itself is truly stunning and well appointed. If the ocean is not always your thing, cool off in the private pool and then warm up in the hot tub! We traveled with four adults and four children, and there was plenty of room for all of us to sleep comfortably. The house was kept at a perfect temperature, and the on-site staff was amazing. The gate guard was always available to answer any of our questions, and the housekeeper ensured that we didn't have to be responsible for any of the upkeep. Even when we planned to do our own dishes or wash our own towels, she always beat us to it. Kenny was fantastic. He hooked us up with a tour company that not only got us to and from the Liberia airport, but also helped us arrange the incomparable Palo Verde river cruise, zip lining and surf lessons at Tamarindo. In addition, he stocked our fridge and pantry before we arrived and introduced us to Adrian, who was our chef for the week. Adrian was incredible. We gave him basic ideas of what we liked and didn't like, and asked him to prepare fresh, local seafood and produce as much as possible. He went above and beyond! We ate like kings and queens all week. With four young children, we expected someone to complain about something...that's what kids usually do, after all! But that was not the case. Every one of our party had a fabulous time. The only negative about the entire trip was that we had to leave!

Vacation Heaven

5 of 5
We have visited Villas Casa Loma two years in a row and have already booked our vacation for 2015. The resort itself is beautiful, serene and very relaxing. Tom & Igor are wonderful hosts and work hard to ensure you have everything you need. You can do as little or as much as you want while there, there are lots of options. You'll need a car for all of your excursions and touring as most are too far to walk. There is an excellent local grocery you can walk to (up and down the mountain) if you are in good shape, beach "Sodas" (restaurants), Flamingo beach (shopping & beach), a fruit market, fish monger & butcher (not like our own.... remember you are in Costa Rica!) all fairly close for daily shopping. Unfortunately the BBQ was not working, but I believe a new one had just been delivered. We cabbed out in the evenings and they are very accommodating and very friendly - some of the cars were not in the best shape, but we managed quite well. VCL staff are very friendly and keep the grounds, pools and property in excellent condition. Overall a wonderful vacation! We look forward to going back in 2015 for a little piece of vacation heaven!
