WOW! We couldn't imagine a better place to stay near the Guanacaste beaches of Costa Rica. The all inclusive resorts are very nice, but also very expensive! This was much more cost effective this time of year. Even though it is a private house, we still had access to all of the restaurants and amenities at the Westin. We used the restaurant for breakfast and lunch about half the time. The rest of the time we used the kitchen in the villa, which was modern and upscale and included an induction range and a vita mixer! For food, we went to the saturday farmers market in Tamarindo and stopped at road side stands for fruits.
The house was perfect for multiple couples. We had a common kitchen and living room, but because the bedrooms are actually separate structures, it made it feel like we were in our own private hotel rooms. It was also just as clean as any hotel room and was very easy to keep that way thanks to the well thought out finishes.
We found ourselves spending a lot of time in and around the pool at the villa, which is basically a whole home water feature that you can get in. Ever wanted to hop in and play in the fancy fountain as a kid?? ... You can do that at this house! There is a large portion that is big enough for lap swimming, and the rest is just deep enough to stick your feet in, or walk thru, or even just sit down in and stay cool in the hot afternoons. I had a day of not feeling so great, and being "stuck" at the house was not a bummer. I was able to lie in the sun by the beautiful pool in total privacy, and was still able to enjoy myself even though I was sick.
There is a third bedroom that my husband setup as his office since this was a working vacation for him. There is an apple screen waiting there for you to plug in to, which was perfect.
we did some long drive exploring around guanacaste and to San jose, and it was nice to come back to a house rather than have to go walking through a hotel!
We all truly enjoyed ourselves here!
