Great house near a quite beach

5 of 5
The house was clean and had lots of space for two of us. Easily accomodates two couples if needed. Short walk to Pelada Beach. Front porch hammock. Would suggest the keys be labelled to make entrance and exit easier. Restaurants are nearby, but suggest to drive unless you are fine with a long-ish walk. No real complaints and great value for your money.

Fantastic home (if not *exactly* as advertised).

4 of 5
The house is extremely comfortable and worked very well for our stay - which included two grandparents, four parents, and six kids aged 3-13. The caretaker, Juan Carlos, is about as perfect as one could wish. He is incredibly friendly, eager, knowledgable, diligent, responsible. He even knew exactly how to treat my sister's (extremely painful and scary) stingray injury. Oh, and he has the most awesome dog ever, Lulu. A couple things that aren't quite as advertised, just so one is completely prepared. One, the directions to the house are unbelievably detailed and accurate, up until the point of locating the actual place. It's possible signs have been moved (indeed, it seems the Guiones Beach Club sign must have been), etc., but the final approach is really elusive, and no one else in Nosara seems to know where the Club is. Two, "four minutes" to the beach is a tad enthusiastic. It's probably closer to ten if you're walking; maybe four if you rent a golf cart in town. Still, when you reach it, it's absolutely gorgeous. For surfers, though, the better break is significantly to the north, so you'll probably want to drive to the main Guiones Beach parking lot and paddle out from there. Three, the internet is so slow as to be essentially non-existent almost all of the time. There is great wi-fi availability from multiple cafes and restaurants in town, but don't expect to stay on-line from the house. Those cautionary notes aside, a highly recommended rental - especially because you could not be in better hands in Nosara than you are with Juan Carlos!

Luxury Mountain Villa Near Beaches

5 of 5
A fabulous new home in the mountains above Garza and Guiones in the Nozara area. The home has a timeless beauty with great attention to detail in both its construction and furnishings. It is so soundly built and secure that it seems indestructible yet graceful. The decor and amenities are top notch. The kitchen is ideally suited for home cooking and graceful dining with an open floor plan. The private bedrooms are downstairs with indoor and outdoor showers. The saltwater pool is refreshing and has great views and cozy seating. The pool house has a natural thatched roof that fits the location beautifully. It includes a bar area, a bathroom and a loft bedroom that catches the mountain breezes. Comfortable luxury! Great beaches are close by and we enjoyed walks, watching the surfers and drinking fresh, cold coconut milk served in the coconut and bought from local vendors who prepare it in front of you. Day trips to various towns are a plus and easy driving distances. We tried guacamole at many places and it became a contest to pick our favorite. Restaurants are nearby. We had wonderful pizzas at Basilica in Garza. Pilos which is right on Garza beach fried whole snapper without batter. It was unique and delicious. Other fine restaurants in the area include Gulfo in Samara, La Dolce Vita for great italian food and La Luna near the whacky hotel for mojitos. One of our most difficult choices was whether to stay at the house and watch the sunset or head down to one of the beaches for the viewing. We did both of course!! One evening the fog rolled into the house. It was like living in the clouds. Sunsets, cocktails and howler monkeys! Wow! We highly recommend this home for your next vacation.
