Honeymooners

5 of 5
My husband and I were lucky enough to spend our honeymoon week at this wonderful home. This was the best place for honeymooners. We were completely secluded. The neighbors aren't right on top of you and no one can see inside of the property even when you are out by the rancho. We felt very comfortable here! One of the things that we loved about this place was the amount of security. Not only are you up a mountain, you're in a gated community complete with a guard house with a 24/7 guard. David and Linda have done a great job securing their home while making it beautiful and open. The front gate to the property, only you can open! We were impressed with the screens in the house. The house remains to stay open where you can feel the breeze but no one can cut through those screens! We really liked being away from the hustle and bustle of the beach towns, not only for the tranquility but also the security as well! We spent time down the hill enjoying beaches, shopping, restaurants - Tibidaba was our favorite!! We spent a lot of time just hanging out at the house! We would put on our music with our ipad and could have it come through any speaker in the house. We were even able to stream music using the strong wifi. We did this a lot at the pool. They have a mini fridge that we kept stocked with beer. There's a grill down by the pool too for grilling. Every afternoon around sunset the monkeys would come out with all the birds! There is no sunset as amazing as the view from this house. Another thing worth mentioning is where we were was much cooler than the beach! We could catch an amazing breeze. Make sure and get a vehicle with 4 wheel drive! We had a fun time driving through the rough roads! The property was very well maintained as far as being clean and the landscaping was beautiful. I will be recommending this house to my friends and family! We will for sure be coming back in the future!

Casa Nomad was lovely!

5 of 5
We had two families and rented the whole house. It is beautiful, very Moroccan design. The kitchen is AWESOME to cook in, though the house is close enough to pop over to Pelada beach or Guiones by car for meals too. Can walk to the beach, but in dry season it can be dusty as cars go by. We were all really comfortable and the place is beautiful. The pool was a joy for the kids and the adults, and we had such lovely evenings playing cards and laughing, or just looking up at the stars. Everything was carefully tended, clean, and wonderfully elegant without being in the least bit precious. Gildas was really helpful with recommendations and we felt really taken care of. Loved having the monkey visits in the late afternoon, watching the birds nesting in the palm trees, and did a fabulous kayak trip up the river to explore the mangroves (thank you cacho's rental). It is a great place to stay, though I definitely recommend you have a car. Next time we are going to ask Gildas to cook a meal for us!!!

Fantastic home (if not *exactly* as advertised).

4 of 5
The house is extremely comfortable and worked very well for our stay - which included two grandparents, four parents, and six kids aged 3-13. The caretaker, Juan Carlos, is about as perfect as one could wish. He is incredibly friendly, eager, knowledgable, diligent, responsible. He even knew exactly how to treat my sister's (extremely painful and scary) stingray injury. Oh, and he has the most awesome dog ever, Lulu. A couple things that aren't quite as advertised, just so one is completely prepared. One, the directions to the house are unbelievably detailed and accurate, up until the point of locating the actual place. It's possible signs have been moved (indeed, it seems the Guiones Beach Club sign must have been), etc., but the final approach is really elusive, and no one else in Nosara seems to know where the Club is. Two, "four minutes" to the beach is a tad enthusiastic. It's probably closer to ten if you're walking; maybe four if you rent a golf cart in town. Still, when you reach it, it's absolutely gorgeous. For surfers, though, the better break is significantly to the north, so you'll probably want to drive to the main Guiones Beach parking lot and paddle out from there. Three, the internet is so slow as to be essentially non-existent almost all of the time. There is great wi-fi availability from multiple cafes and restaurants in town, but don't expect to stay on-line from the house. Those cautionary notes aside, a highly recommended rental - especially because you could not be in better hands in Nosara than you are with Juan Carlos!
