Beautiful retreat, excellent value

5 of 5
My family of four were staying in Playa Grande when we decided we wanted to see a different part of the Pacific Coast. We found this place and contacted the owners who responded quickly. Happily the house was available and we stayed there the next night! Jeff and Katherine were so kind to have the place ready on such short notice. Their directions were clear and accurate and we found it quite easily. The grounds are like a botanical garden, there are so many fruit trees and beautiful flowers. The pool was small but perfect for our needs. The entire property is like a mini-resort without all the noisy people. The house was much more stylish than most vacation rental places and we settled in easily. We were only there for two nights so we didn't end up cooking there, but it looked like they had everything one would need. The rooms all had A/C, which was quite welcome because the entire west coast was in a bit of a heat wave when we were there. The house was immaculately clean and had a lovely spice smell. We would be happy to stay there again (for a longer time, hopefully) but visitors should be aware that it's a good 10-15 minute walk to the ocean. On the plus side, it's just a 5-10 minute walk to two good markets and two very good restaurants. Jeff and Katherine helped set up a day tour to Isla Tortuga and I know there are many other activities they can help set up. We loved our visit to Casa Tranquilo!

The perfect honeymoon spot!

5 of 5
This place is amazing for privacy! The feature was the infinity pool overlooking the nature reserve! Close to town! Owners and the property manager were excellent to deal with. 5 stars for a fantastic honeymoon experience.

Amazing place!

5 of 5
My friends and I spent a wonderful time at this beautiful Villa in Montezuma. The place has amazing views and great common spaces to hang out around the kitchen and living room. The fact that the living room is completely open space (no windows nor doors) makes this living room area fresh because of the winds that come from both the Ocean in the front and the River in the back, plus it allows one to feel in total contact with nature. The Villa has two enormous bedrooms (each one can sleep up to 6 or more people), and two bathrooms, each one with open-air showers and wonderful slate floors. The upstairs bedroom is a very special space. It has access to a deck overlooking the property where you can sit or sleep out under the stars and watch the sunrise over the ocean in the morning. Sleeping in that room, with all of the windows open, is an experience you will not forget. The house has everything you need to have a comfortable vacation. The kitchen is well equipped and the furniture is both tasteful and comfortable. This Wildlife Sanctuary Villa is conveniently located less than a mile from the town and beaches of Montezuma (5 minute drive) and far enough to avoid the noise of the bars and restaurants from downtown. If you don’t have a car it is about a 20 minute walk down to town and there are buses that run up and down the hill every 2 hours. The place does not have a swimming pool, the owner never wished to have a chlorinated pool because she has, instead, the Montezuma River right in the backyard, down a trail where we went swimming. It is a short hike (hilly so take good hiking shoes or sandals, NOT flip flops, and once you get to the River, you have the place all to yourselves, along with all of the birds and the monkeys who are always there.. We spent about three hours just reading and sunbathing, and it was heavenly. Kati, the owner, and Johnny, the Administrator, will do anything they can to accommodate your needs. Johnny (who lives in the tree house next door) is a great host and helps you with anything you might need.
