I just Love the peace and quiet

5 of 5
This was our first trip to Costa Rica during the rainy season and it did not disappoint. I would certainly suggest a 4-wheel-drive vehicle as the roads can be a bit slippery. No Snow Casa was perfect! Everything was so green, the flowers on all the bushes were blooming and attracting butterflies and humming birds. It was fun to pick limons off the tree in the yard for our drinks, fresh & juicy! We even found a star fruit on one of the trees. There was a fun critter that showed up every day. It looked like a long nosed raccoon, I think they called it a Pisoti? We called him Charles. He really liked our selection of fruit and he came right up to us for his treats. The neighborhood is fantastic and we even met several of the neighbors who were quick to make us feel right at home. We walked to a couple of waterfalls, one just up stream from the narrow yellow bridge, and one the other direction in the development. We loved all the natural woodwork, the rocking chairs, the awesome shower, and the tranquility. Oh, Montezuma is outstanding too!!

Secluded setting and abundant nature

5 of 5
During the summer of 2013 my wife and I spent one month at the Newville Pool House and we were delighted when it was available the following January for another visit of ten days. The property is very nicely situated within easy walking distance to the shops, markets and restaurants of Cabuya and yet, since it is very secluded, affords a high level of privacy. The ocean is near enough that it can be heard at night. We enjoyed the richness of nature which surrounded us; a troop of howler monkeys often took up residence in a pochote tree next to the house; agoutis played in the back yard while iguanas fed on fallen hibiscus blossoms; flowers draw a multitude of butterflies and hummingbirds; birdlife is profuse. The house itself is beautifully designed, very light and airy, and a genial place to spend time when we were not out availing ourselves of the region's many natural attractions such as the beaches, the Rio Lajas, the Montezuma Waterfall, the nature reserve of Cabo Blanco, and more. We occasionally dined out at any one of the area's excellent restaurants but more often we prepared our meals in the well equipped kitchen and ate in. The bathrooms are more than adequate and the shower in one of them is particularly good. The husband/wife property management team is very gracious and no effort is spared to assure that our stay is as pleasant and comfortable as possible. I would enthusiastically recommend this property to a friend or a relative and we look forward to our next visit.

YOUR VERY OWN TROPICAL PARADISE!

5 of 5
If you are wondering if Estrella is the place for you to stay...this...is...it! The moment you are greeted from the most accommodating owners ever, Patricia and Simon, you will find this place to be everything you hoped it would be and more! We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica and any worries we might have had were unnecessary. We found Estrella and the lovely area of Montezuma to be absolutely perfect. The accommodations were superior, totally private, safe, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and full of amazing detail and beauty. Patricia and Simon have created a dream-like peaceful place where you can come to just relax. Features like elegant teak ceilings, thick mahogany countertops, tile floors, fully equipped kitchen, accent lighting, artful lighting fixtures, WiFi, and a ceiling fan over a comfortable bed made our stay that much more enjoyable. The front porch with the hammock and the perfect spot for morning coffee added to the delight. Having the choice of a fun, private outdoor shower in your own banana grove become a daily pleasure. The landscaping, flowers, trees and plants were delightful and we enjoyed the butterflies and hummingbirds that were attracted to them. The sandy beaches (Los Cedros) nearby were beautiful, virtually private (since there were very few other people) and we were mesmerized by the blue waves of the Pacific Ocean. Special thanks goes to Patricia and Simon for kindly sharing helpful information, supplying us with a hand-drawn personalized map, providing a list (with photos) of local wildlife, coaching us about the taxis and local bus schedule, making sure our stay was enjoyable, and providing us with great opportunities to see (and photograph) the monkeys, iguanas, coatis, agoutis, and more! It was a unique experience getting to see and hear the howler monkeys from our own private paradise. We felt right at home and appreciated Patricia and Simon’s extra help in obtaining a taxi for us the day of our departure. We would definitely go back and would have stayed longer if given the opportunity. We truly enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you Patricia and Simon! Keith & Caryn
