Great Chill-Out Place

5 of 5
We arrived (14th Feb. 2015 ) at Dos Iguanos, following a fantastic 11 day coast to coast road trip across the north of Costa Rica. Our first impression upon sight of the property was that we had made an excellent decision, both with the house and also the location. The larger of the Dos Iguanos is bright, airy & large, the upstairs bedroom area being a particularly good space. The kitchen & appliances were adequate for purpose and the patio absolutely suited for outdoor living. There is plenty of shade on offer here both on the patio and in the garden. The downstairs bathroom was large having both a bath & shower. Walk 40 metres through the unspoilt natural garden and you find the pebble beach with small areas of sand, backed by amazing pieces of driftwood. If the tide is in swimming is easy, if out, the beach is very rocky and aqua shoes allow you to still wander around in the rock pools. We were visited in the garden by howler & capuchin monkeys, iguanas and squirrels plus numerous birds, whilst pelicans, frigates and herons could be seen at the beach. Cabuya is a great virtually unspoilt fishing village, 4 or 5 "restaurants" of which Marvins was our favourite. Two local supermarkets provide most daily needs although fresh meat is best brought in from Cabano. A small second hand book shop plus a gift shop completes the shopping options. Roads are unpaved and most people walk around or hire bikes. Cabo Blanco Reserve is just 2km away & its 6 mile round trip hike to a fantastic beach complete with wildlife spotting on the way, is a must do. Finally, our booking through the owner Sean went without a hitch and manager Cindy was on hand to deal with any issues arising during our stay. We left feeling relaxed and well rested although a little sad we weren`t staying longer.

Great vacation home!

5 of 5
Chez Mu is a beautiful home in a rugged, beautiful area. It is close to Montezuma but off the path enough to enjoy beautiful views, sounds of the jungle and enjoy the wildlife. The kitchen is well stocked with nice appliances and dishes. The bedrooms are air conditioned and the furnishings are basic, clean and comfortable. The house is well stocked with coolers and beach mats for a day at the beach. The deck area is amazing. It is better than the pictures. We loved getting up in the morning, listening to the monkeys, seeing the ocean and viewing birds from the gorgeous infinity pool. The pool is small but our family loved relaxing in the pool soaking in the view. The owners are responsive by email and the caretakers keep the property clean and are sweet and helpful. We cannot wait to come back!

Paradise only steps from your own private beach!

This place is Costa Rica at its best! This was my husband and I's second trip to CR and dos iguanas was everything we could have asked for. We fell asleep at night to the howler monkeys and woke in the morning to see spider monkeys and large iguanas in our back yard. We bought fresh red snapper from Vin (Cindy's uncle) that was caught that morning and rented kayaks from Jim two doors down to do some snorkeling at isla de Cabuya. The hammocks were great for afternoon siestas! The house had everything we needed and was the perfect distance to (and distant enough from the noise) of montezuma. Do yourself a favor and check this place out! Make sure to rent a car. We will be back hopefully this year with family! Sean we can't thank you and Cindy enough!!!!
