        Great place!

        5 of 5
I visited Cabuya with my family during the easter week. The house is nice and clean, it had everything we needed. It is close from Montezuma, Mal pais and Santa Teresa so it is great if you have a car and want to explore. The road to get there is a little rough but is definitely worth it.

        Amazing place!

        5 of 5
My friends and I spent a wonderful time at this beautiful Villa in Montezuma. The place has amazing views and great common spaces to hang out around the kitchen and living room. The fact that the living room is completely open space (no windows nor doors) makes this living room area fresh because of the winds that come from both the Ocean in the front and the River in the back, plus it allows one to feel in total contact with nature. The Villa has two enormous bedrooms (each one can sleep up to 6 or more people), and two bathrooms, each one with open-air showers and wonderful slate floors. The upstairs bedroom is a very special space. It has access to a deck overlooking the property where you can sit or sleep out under the stars and watch the sunrise over the ocean in the morning. Sleeping in that room, with all of the windows open, is an experience you will not forget. The house has everything you need to have a comfortable vacation. The kitchen is well equipped and the furniture is both tasteful and comfortable. This Wildlife Sanctuary Villa is conveniently located less than a mile from the town and beaches of Montezuma (5 minute drive) and far enough to avoid the noise of the bars and restaurants from downtown. If you don’t have a car it is about a 20 minute walk down to town and there are buses that run up and down the hill every 2 hours. The place does not have a swimming pool, the owner never wished to have a chlorinated pool because she has, instead, the Montezuma River right in the backyard, down a trail where we went swimming. It is a short hike (hilly so take good hiking shoes or sandals, NOT flip flops, and once you get to the River, you have the place all to yourselves, along with all of the birds and the monkeys who are always there.. We spent about three hours just reading and sunbathing, and it was heavenly. Kati, the owner, and Johnny, the Administrator, will do anything they can to accommodate your needs. Johnny (who lives in the tree house next door) is a great host and helps you with anything you might need.

        A visit to paradise

        5 of 5
We visited the paradise for a period of three weeks and it was amazing! The house itself as well as the beautiful backyard invite you to "tranquilo" (relax) like the ticos in Costa Rica would describe it. You can find various plants and animals in the backyard like a raccoon family, a skunk, monkeys, an opossum and much more. The ocean view from the terrace was breathtaking every day. The house provides enough space for 4 adult people. Two big bedrooms and a nice master bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped so we cooked nearly ever day by our own. Within a 10 minutes drive you reach Montezuma, a very colorful town with its bars and restaurants. In Cabuya itself you can find a very good bakery, the small supermarket "Super David" and a very nice and tasty restaurant directly located on the opposite of the supermarket "Super David". You should also visit the Cabo Blanco national park. We saw coatis, anteaters and various birds. The drive from the house to Cabo Blanco takes about 5 minutes. If you like to surf in Costa Rica you also just have to drive about 15-20 minutes to Mal Pais, Santa Teresa or Playa Hermosa. All of them are very good for surfing. In rain season there is good surf close to the house at breaks called rio lajas and cedros. We had a wonderful stay in Cabuya and we deply recommend a visit to costa rica and Olis casa. Oli is a great landlord and very flexible what makes it much easier for us. We had no problems at all! Lena, Ben, Chris and Denise
