Best Christmas Family Vacation Ever

5 of 5
Our family of eight adults and seven children had the best Christmas vacation at Casa Maravella . We ranged in ages from 70 yrs. to three years and everyone was very comfortable and well taken cared of. The house is so comfortable with lots of open space around pool and doors that stayed open fron living room out to pool. The open pavilion provided seating for meals and cocktails looking out over the Pacific Ocean. The bedrooms all had individual air conditioning for easy comfort. Chef Ronald was wonderful to have around and prepared different meals every day that even pickiest eaters enjoyed. He prepared fish that we caught in many delicious ways. House keeping was every day and laundry done every two days. What a treat !!! We can't say enough about Sabrina an Don..managers of home. As soon as we signed up Sabrina would email each family with flight arrangements, excursion opportunities, and general information.she made it so easy to coordinate all plans for everyone. She and Don put up Christmas tree and many fun decorations all over the house which delighted the children. She or Don would stop by to be sure we were comfortable and didn't need anything. We all had such a wonderful week and would love to get back as soon as we can. Really hated to leave. Griers,Griffins. Columbia S.C. Buycks. Charleston,S.C.

Lovely Property in the hills

4 of 5
The house was perfect for our family of 6. My husband and I appreci the privacy of the separate bedroom downstairs as well. The setting is beautiful and we even got nightly visits from a troop of squirrel monkeys. It was in easy walking distance of Quepos but the hilly terrain would make it a challenge for anyone who was not fit.

Perfect location!!

5 of 5
The reviews are all right on so I'll just add that we had a terrific time and wish we could have stayed longer. This property is in a perfect location with a fabulous beach and a view to die for. Excellent restaurants are within walking distance. From our deck the first day we saw a sloth, howler and capuchin monkeys, and numerous birds including a toucan and an aracari. Birders, just sit back and let the species flock to you. A short walk down the road one evening led us to three species of monkey including the mono titi and spider monkeys. The birding here is rediculous!!! Ken and Kim were extremely helpful including providing assistance when our luggage didn't arrive the same day we did. Kim actually offered to lend us their clothes!!!! No need to book activities until you arrive and they assist with the arrangements. We also took the trip to Isla Damas with Jose and it was well worth the time to see how local Ticos live. This was a visit to a farm with a fresh, beautiful and authentic lunch, time to walk, swim and boogie board on a gorgeous beach with virtually no one else to be seen in either direction. Jose did a great job as our tour guide. We also booked a fishing excursion on the yacht. Caught four beautiful sailfish! The food was fantastic as well. We were quite pampered. A couple of items that might be helpful is that it wasn't worth our time to drag our snorkel equipement with us. They do have equipment to rent either at the house or down at Playa Biesanz. Also only one room has an ensuite bath. Two rooms share a bathroom which by the way is large enough to have a party in with a huge skylit shower. The maid service was excellent. Cecilia did our laundary and dishes every day. Kim is able to take one person horseback riding at a time and our daughter to be had a terrific time riding at sunset. Kim also arranged a horsetrip so that the whole family could ride including galloping for the experienced riders which is not typical of most trailrides. All in all a fabulous place. One last item. If you are interested in transportation from San Jose to the property I highly recommend Cosa Rica Shuttle. They are by far the best shuttle service I have ever encountered and very reasonable with English speaking drivers who let us stop wherever we wanted to along the way to buy groceries, take pictures, etc.
