Debra's 50th Birthday

5 of 5
By far one of the best vacations ever. Casa Espanola is a fabulous, upscale villa that is spacious, modern and clean. I traveled with a group of 20 people and everyone was in awe. I probably will never go to a hotel again after the Casa Espanola experience. The dining area was big enough for everyone, thus producing a total family vibe at mealtime. The rooms are big and the beds are huge. Chef Glenda and her daughter were the absolute best and the menu selections are just too many to name. The ride from SJO airport was 2 1/2 hrs but no one seemed to mind the long ride because it gave you an opportunity to sightsee. We also took the local bus in Manuel Antonio for about .67 cents....what a deal. I can't say enough about this fabulous place. I can't wait to go back. Thanks to Amy, Hazel and the staff at Casa Espanola.

Nice place to stay and Geralyn was great!

4 of 5
Geralyn met us to show us the way to the house, showed us around and picked up some groceries before we arrived. The house has just about everything you need to have a comfortable stay. One thing which should be looked at is a leaking showerhead in one of the bathrooms. Other than that, we enjoyed the house and surrounding area which is close to all the restaurants. We went to Costa Rica to fish for 3 days and on the first morning, our car wouldn't start. I called Geralyn at 6:30 in the morning for help. She arranged for a taxi to pick us up, worked with the car rental company to get the car running and followed up with us to make sure everything was ok. She turned what could have been a stressful situation into no problem. Great customer service and thanks again Geralyn!

Paradise found in Costa Rica

5 of 5
The Villa was everything that was promised and more. Overall, our stay was amazing and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property. We are 47 and 50 and have done a decent amount of travelling and this was the best vacation of our lives. The property is exactly as pictured and the views of the Pacific Ocean and the sunsets every evening are beyond spectacular. The Infinty pool is what sets this property apart from the others. You have complete privacy and we spent 2-3 hours a day at or in the pool. We had coffee outside every morning on the covered veranda and enjoyed the view and wildlife, including birds, butterflies and a friendly monkey who visited a nearby tree. It is so nice outside that we even chose to stay home and enjoyed dinners we prepared 4 of the 8 evenings we were there. The kitchen is fully appointed and being health conscious types we went to the local farmers markets to get FRESH fruit, vegetables and seafood when we cooked. The bed is absolutely amazing. I have some back issues and was concerned but I slept like a baby the entire stay. The beaches nearby in Manuel Antonio are as good as advertised too. Soft sand, great surf for swimming and all kinds of water activities available for a fee (para-sailing, sea kayaking, surfing, etc.). There is even a beach you can drive onto and park which is more private. Brenda and I enjoyed a day hiking and enjoying Manuel Antonio National Park on our own and saw 15-20 monkeys in their natural habitat, sloths, numerous birds, raccoons, etc., etc. We want to thank Hazel (the Villa's concierge) for recommending some other great activities. We went zip lining at Mid World and did both the normal lines and Superman (worth the extra $40). On another day we went waterfall rappelling with Xtreme Tours. The waterfalls and pools to swim in were great and the drive up into the mountains and scenery at the park where you rappel is beautiful. Both were thrills that we will cherish for a lifetime. Both staff allow you to do whatever you want based upon your ability. I've gone many other places and it’s not even enjoyable because of all the ridiculous rules. Both of these are a must for any adrenaline junkies or couples looking for some fun. Finally, if you rent a car get a 4WD. It helps with driving up the steep driveway to the Villa and allows you to go explore. We drove down the coast to the smaller and more humble towns of Dominical and Uvita and had a great day. Restaurants were fantastic. Can't wait to go back. Thanks!!!
