Absolutely fantastic vacation home!

5 of 5
Our group of twelve people (5 couples/2 single men) stayed at Villa Pelicano for one week and we didn't want to leave! It's a fantastic house that easily accommodated us offering privacy, fantastic views, a great location, comfortable living areas, and ample room so as not to feel crowded. The house is located on a hillside with lots of acreage surrounding it so there were no neighbors visible to us. This was great as we were a bit of a rowdy bunch staying up to the wee hours playing in the pool and making quite a bit of ruckus, it couldn't have been a better fit! Our concierge, Sabrina, was fantastic and took exceptional care of us. She was instrumental in planning our day excursions by giving us great advise and direction as to what to do. I don't know how we would have planned everything we did without her. Everyone has said it was one of the most fun vacations they've ever been on and I credit a lot of it to her. The only thing I might caution you on is to be aware that the driveway is very steep which limited some vehicles from picking you up at the bottom near the house. Most of them made it down but there were two times that the larger vehicles didn't want to attempt the drive up the hill (specifically the very large white water rafting bus & a pretty good size van/bus for the catamaran tour). But, most often, the vehicles came down the hill and picked you up so it was no problem. Quite honestly, I enjoyed the walk up & down the hill as it gave me an opportunity to check out the vegetation and wildlife on the property. Just be aware of the situation and make alternate arrangements for pickup if there will be a guest that can't walk up a steep hill. Carlos was our chef, he's very talented and eager to please. Just be very clear as to the size portions you wish for as the Costa Rican people eat much lighter than your average American and there were a few times some of our guests would have liked larger portions. He does everything within his power to make you happy so just be very clear when communicating to him what you want and you won't be disappointed. Pura Vida......Paula

Casa Las Nubes - Truly unique and amazing!!

5 of 5
I stayed at Casa Las Nubes in mid-October with my family...the property is beyond gorgeous!! The architecture is truly amazing and unique - who wouldn't love walking into a home situated around an infinity edge pool with stunning views of the Pacific? Not only is the home itself gorgeous, but the surrounding jungle is just as stunning. We saw monkeys pass through on the trees just below the home each day as well as dozens of exotic birds, sloths, and more! You honestly get the best of both worlds here - a relaxing, "isolated" and private jungle feel, as well as thriving nightlife, dozens of activities and excursions for the adventurous, even yoga and Pilates! My favorite activity was walking up the hill each morning to the local yoga/Pilates studio for a class. Furthermore, the concierge and staff were all exceptionally accommodating and welcoming. Every single staff member was ready and willing to help with any need - big or small. The level of professionalism and excellence at Tulemar cannot be matched. The team was phenomenal! I really couldn't ask for a more relaxing, enjoyable and unique experience. I cannot wait to go back!
