Perfect Private Getaway

5 of 5
My friend recommended this place to me, saying it was well worth the cost because you basically stay in a downtown abbey treehouse. Though there wasn't any fun british drama, there were six people on staff to make sure our stay was impeccable. The pool was gorgeous. Because it's an infinity pool, there were literally NO bugs floating on the water. Hard to believe in the middle of a rain forest! The bathrooms are amazing. Clean, gorgeous, with good water pressure in the showers. This place was truly beautiful. And we were right on the water. A minute's walk to the beach, if that. Though it's technically a public beach, there were maybe one or two other people for about a mile's radius. In the far distance we could see beach umbrellas, but it was basically our own private slice of ocean. It was awesome because we could see no other houses from our deck, but at the same time if we wanted to go out to eat, we could get to several cute local restaurants just by walking! I would strongly recommend this place to anyone with the financial resources to pay for it. There are enough rooms that you could get a big group of friends to go and split the cost. That's what I want to do so that I can go again.

An anniversary celebration of the ages!!

4 of 5
Vista Oceana was an absolutely wonderful venue for the family to assemble in celebration of our 50th weeding anniversary. Unfortunately for us, one of our sons and his spouse were unable to come do to the expected arrival of their first child in January 2015, It's a Girl!, a circumstance that was not foreseen when we made our reservations in 2013. And if they had joined us the house would not have been able to comfortably accommodate all 15 of us. But for 13, it was almost perfect. The setting was marvelous with spectacular sunsets almost every night. The bird life and the monkeys provided experiences that will live on in our memories for years to come. And the location of the infinity pool assured frequent, and much appreciated use. Practically all present engaged in multiple activities and reported high levels of satisfaction with all arrangements. The sunset cruise on a private sailboat was a wonderful and unexpected touch as was the dinner prepared by a chef in the home on Christmas eve. We did experience a brief power outage and the water was unavailable for about 12 hours. But I guess those kind of unanticipated events are not all that uncommon in Manuel Antonio. Other than the Christmas Eve meal, we ate several memorable dinners at first class local restaurants. It is doubtful that we shall ever try to revisit the area for any similar event again, the logistics for a large family with a wide variety of ages and involvements (schools, jobs, etc.) being what they are, but in no way does this indicate the least disappointment with the experience on this most memorable occasion. Thankfully, Dennis Hunter

Great home with great views

5 of 5
We stayed a week at this home. The house was beautiful and very big. Lots of room to spread out and everyone was able to have their own room if they wanted. Also well decorated, very colorful. The pool was nice, overlooked the ocean and a great way to cool off after a day of adventures. The views are amazing. Having Alberto to help us make plans, reservations, and book tours was very helpful. I give this home 5 stars and if we visit again I would have no issues staying here again. But a few notes about the home: 1) We were there at the start of the rainy season, the good news is i only rained at night, but when it rained it rained hard! Make sure you check when you are staying because your vacation could be ruined if you come at the height of the rainy season 2) There were some leaks in the home from the heavy rains, hopefully they have been fixed 3) We did not have a car, and it is a little bit of uphill hike to the road, tough on my older parents who came with us. We got to where we just called a cab to the house, find a nice taxi driver and get their card, they will take you anywhere, we even had to go to the emergency room late one night and our driver took us and helped us get through the process! 4) The Monkeys will visit the house.... they are fun to watch, we fed them, but do not try and get too close, some are a little aggressive and they did hiss and growl at us! Manuel Antonio was a great place to visit, lots of fun on adventures esp. zip lining and the beach. Also many great and very good places to eat, the food even on the trips was very good.
