Breathtaking, Amazing and everything and more!!!!!

5 of 5
There is nothing about this property that is not legitimate in every way. The photos do not do it justice and they are amazing! The home has everything you need and then some! We took are 4 grown children and we all the time of our life! Michael is one truly amazing person, his flexibility and sincerity and character show thru in everything he does and the work he has put into this home is truly a labor of love! We have never traveled outside the U.S. so this whole experience was new to us, and Michael had such incredible patience. We emailed him so many times with questions and he responded immediately every time. In some instances he just called and always made us feel important. The next thing you need to know when you get there, his caretakers (David & Lizbeth) are two of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life, they treated us better than we deserved! We have added them to our family! We all cried when we left them especially my wife! You should definitely let them cook for you at least once, they are amazing cooks! David set up everything we wanted to do and he knows everyone! We were very nervous obviously being rookie travelers and he always was watching out for us! Costa Rica is an amazing place and this home is not a typical place, we spent several days just listing to music, cooking at the house and playing in the pool and it was so special! Our night sitting around the beautiful circle table and having dinner were priceless. My name is Cliff Crabtree and I live in Raleigh, NC, that should be enough for your to find me if you don't believe my review. Call me anytime! Michael, thank you will be back soon

Paradise

5 of 5
I have stayed in this house three times over 6 years. The first, my now husband and I fell in love. The second, we brought all our loved ones and had our wedding. And we just returned to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. To say that it's special to us, is an understatement. But for the sake of this review, I will try and leave my obsession for this home aside. THE HOUSE: The house itself rests right on the beach. You will spend most of your time in the wade-in pool and you can hear the waves while you swim. The pool is the center of the home (you can see in the pictures)--each morning you will open the huge glass and wooden doors to the outside, connecting indoors directly to the outdoors. The grounds are landscaped impeccably. Inside, each of the suites could be their own stand alone living quarters. You have complete privacy, they're hugely spacious and they are romantic and grand. Each opens to the outside. And most importantly, they are all air conditioned (it's hot in Costa Rica!). When we didn't enjoy dinners outside, we would take advantage of the giant dining area and create massive spreads for everyone. After dinner, we would have cocktails at the tiki bar in the house and typically head back to the pool. The house is so customized. The wood comes from the owners teak farm and every detail has been taken into consideration--it just feels so special. LOCATION: Nothing is more than a 5 minute quad ride away, but you feel like you're totally secluded. You can go ziplining right up the road. We always go to the fishing boats to get fresh fish. And we love to stop in and visit friends at the Surf Camp--each time, our guests have taken surf lessons and loved it. You can get a board for the day for (something like) $10. You have tons of restaurants around you! DINING: Mal Pais has amazing food. Our favorite is Mary's. We literally ordered every item on their special board and weren't disappointed with a single dish. The sushi place is great, but the service is pretty lax. There's a new bakery that has amazing coffee and delicious breakfast. There's so many great restaurants on the beach--really you can slip into most places and just have aps and cocktails for very little money and just enjoy the beauty of this place. TIP: You have to have a quad/ 4-wheeler. They're not cheap and you don't want to run out of gas.

Stunning house, Beautiful location!

5 of 5
We loved this house! We have rented homes in Mal Pais for 3 yrs in a row and absolutely love it. We have always rented from Jeremy and have never been disappointed...in fact we are always blown away and this house was no exception! Close enough to town to be convenient but away enough to be extremely private and absolutely beautiful. Tucked in the hills with floor to ceiling glass and a view of the ocean and jungle is quite a way to wake up every day! This would be a great house to entertain in (we loved the open 3rd floor with the pool table, bar, and soaking tub). We highly recommend the house and Jeremy!
