Great place for vacation

5 of 5
Very nice vacation rental! Hosts are very friendly and helpful and even lent us bicycles for our stay which were great to have to get to the Cahuita centre (about 20 mins or so on bikes). Location is very private on the back of a big lot and an easy walk to the beach. Well stocked kitchen made cooking enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!

Quiet and relaxing!

5 of 5
Selvatica was perfect! The listing is very accurate. The location is nicely situated near cute and delicious restaurants, as well as Playa Chiquita. Playa Chiquita was our favorite beach so it was nice that it was the closest. The best part of the area IMO is the lack of other tourists, at least while we were there. On the beach or even at restaurants, it was always quiet except for the sounds you want to hear - the jungle and howler monkeys! The property was clean and Rodrigo, the current manager, was the nicest, most helpful local we met! (He's originally from Spain.) He gave us tips on what to see and do but also gave us privacy. He offered to do laundry and got out bikes and snorkel gear daily for us to use. (I didn't realize these were included in the rental, but they were!) We didn't rent a car, but most areas/attractions are walkable or bikeable. I definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a private, quiet getaway. The journey to and from San Jose is rough, but worth it. That's why it's not as crowded on the Caribbean side. The Jaguar Rescue was a highlight. We got to handle baby monkeys and learn a lot about all of the wildlife that surrounded us while we were there. We took a short tour, which ended up being just my girlfriend and I, to a Bribri reservation where they made hot chocolate from scratch - it probably ruined powder and starbucks hot chocolate forever. It was amazing! It was just my girlfriend and I, so we had plenty of space inside the property. We never even used the other room, and there was a fold out couch. The porch, as you can see in the pictures, is great for lounging in two hammocks and eating breakfast with the frogs and monkeys in the mornings. For restaurants, Pura Gula and Selvin's were ridic good! Koki Beach in Puerto Viejo is touristy but it was delicious. Lot's of places take cards and dollars too, which saved us a few times. You can't not have a great time here!

Increíble experiencia en el Caribe!!!

5 of 5
